LSU doesn't mess around. Miles is stuck in the 8-4 to 10-2 range. His ceiling is no longer "win the national title", so he's going to be gone.
Other schools like Georgia should follow their lead. Richt is the ultimate 9-3 type of coach. A real program won't settle for it.

Or perhaps LSU and Georgia are bottom feeders with a false sense of superiority generated by their media partner ESPN.Azubuike24;1765463 wrote:LSU doesn't mess around. Miles is stuck in the 8-4 to 10-2 range. His ceiling is no longer "win the national title", so he's going to be gone.

Besides their championship run in '07, LSU has been pretty terrible. The year they went to the title game they were also terrible but because SEC they got gifted an appearance.

I don't think it's media hype.
However, those schools EXPECT to be Alabama. When they aren't, they panic.
With the right coach, especially Georgia, they can be. The state of Georgia probably produces the best in-state talent outside of Texas year in and year out, and Georgia gets a majority of those guys. The way Richt has recruited, it's a joke that he continually has guys getting in trouble, kicked out or underperforming.
LSU, honestly, probably can't do much better than Les, IMO.

It was a great place to watch a game. Good atmosphere, friendly people... It was awesome to be there during the white out.FatHobbit;1764837 wrote:Fyi, there must only be one road into happy valley. I've been twice and traffic is always terrible getting in.
You're right Hobbit, traffic going in was REALLY BAD.

Well said. Except for the last 10 years LSU football is pretty much the same as Illinois.Azubuike24;1765480 wrote:I don't think it's media hype.

IMO unless you're going to get a guaranteed amazing coach you never fire the consistent 10 win seasons. The obvious one is Nebraska who just suck now, but Texas and Michigan fans both had became tired of their coaches who after retiring saw themselves spin into pure awfulness

I'd like to add as well I'm sick as hell of the constant love the SEC gets. The Big 10 has 5 teams in the top 17, while the SEC just has 4 teams ranked and only one worth a damn in Alabama

Surprised to see the Sooners jump that high. But with the way they played against BC, Notre Dame doesn't deserve a spot. They need to prove it by beating Stanford soundly, and even then they'll have to hope for some help. But crazier things have happened.

ESPN predicting that if things stay as they are, the remaining bowl match-ups are pretty interesting. Ohio State vs. Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl?

Anyone have a feeling that Nebraska knocks off Iowa today?

It wouldn't shock me. Nebraska's been unpredictable and most of their games have gone down to the wire and Iowa's the sort of team that's susceptible to that sort of team (no real signature win combined with a lot of fairly close games). And the game is in Nebraska, right?Azubuike24;1766006 wrote:Anyone have a feeling that Nebraska knocks off Iowa today?

Wouldn't really be a shocker with Baylor on their 9th QB this season.slingshot4ever;1766008 wrote:I'm seeing a TCU win over Baylor tonight

TCU is missing Boykin, a top receiver and RB I believe....I think Baylor is on 3rd QBSportsAndLady;1766009 wrote:Wouldn't really be a shocker with Baylor on their 9th QB this season.

Navy might stay in top 25 after this but should be 5 or so spots behind Houston.

A few thoughts. The pick 6 by Armstrong was pathetic. Rule #1 of a screen...throw it over the d-lineman.
Also, that hit on Smith was almost 100% caused by an absolutely shitty ass throw by the QB. If he throws it just slightly better, it's probably still a drop and not a targeting call.
Sure, it was a brutal hit...but the WR is also diving right into the oncoming DB. The DB has almost no chance to avoid hitting him in the helmet unless he just doesn't hit him at all. Not that it wasn't a penalty, but it was one that the offense's terrible execution led to the spot the WR was put in.

Just because the QB makes a poor throw doesn't mean you don't have to use you B1G starting safety instincts and avoid seriously injuring him. Could not have been more defenseless.Azubuike24;1766038 wrote:A few thoughts. The pick 6 by Armstrong was pathetic. Rule #1 of a screen...throw it over the d-lineman.

As for the pick 6....most all pick 6's are terrible decisions by the QB, some credit to the defensive guy for tipping it to himself for the catch and TD
