I felt the exact opposite. The books are so horribly written that anything had to be an improvement. My friends and I had a great time and really enjoyed the movie. Yeah, I don't get that. It followed the book pretty closely, and actually left out a lot of the dumb dialogue. That's what made it better, IMO. I didn't have to hear about inner goddesses doing the tango (for real) or any of that stupid shit.
