No surprised belly brought up black people. Not surprised thavoice agreed. Not surprised tiernan looked at the dudes dick.
Also, he looks like an Arby's roast beef sandwich in real life so vanity fair really knows how to air brush.

First public appearance will be on the ESPY's as he's getting the Arthur Ashe award.
I'll guess some athletes will have other commitments.

You know they will give it a standing applause because they all feel they have to.

I hate when shit stories like this cross into the sports world, or even in the main stream news arena.sleeper;1731946 wrote:I don't truly understand this whole gender identity crap nor why this is even a story.
If People or E or whomever entertainment outlets wanna cover it then fine as us normal folk wont have to listen to the shit.
So he was in the Olympics 30 years ago......doesnt mean ESPN has to have headlines and discuss it.

Meh, breaks the monotony of the "I'm white and outraged because minorities!" stuff that constitutes 85% of Serious Business nowadays.sleeper;1731946 wrote:I don't truly understand this whole gender identity crap nor why this is even a story.

Much like Einstein's theory of Relativity, E=mc² helped define a new age of physics, I've managed to define the intelligence of the average American in a single equation...

Do people really think that someone would transition just for publicity? That is so asinine. Bruce Jenner was famous for over 40 years, and would have been famous for the rest of his life regardless.BR1986FB;1732044 wrote:Yawn....is this over yet? Yes. Did he have to do a reality show to keep his name out there? No. Did he have to make a spectacle and make sure everyone knew he was transitioning? No.Fab4Runner;1732045 wrote:Do people really think that someone would transition just for publicity? That is so asinine. If you think this isn't for publicity you're being naive.

And, I don't think he necessarily asked for the publicity. Maybe he approached Diane Sawyer to interview him, but it's more likely that he was approached. If you notice, the paparazzi go after him(celebs in general), not the other way around. I know it's a 2 way street, and he could have said no to every media opportunity, but don't pretend that he "wanted" the media attention he's getting.Fab4Runner;1732045 wrote:Do people really think that someone would transition just for publicity? Is it? I mean...are people wrong for at least questioning the motives?Fab4Runner;1732045 wrote:Do people really think that someone would transition just for publicity? That is so asinine. Bruce Jenner was famous for over 40 years, and would have been famous for the rest of his life regardless.
For one...it's the Kardashians. The whole family is famous for being socialites. They're also on the E! Network, a network that airs shows like Fashion Police. A show who's entire premise is based on judging people's clothes. It's also a network that thrives on vanity.
I'm just playing the devil's advocate here. I couldn't care less about Bruce Jenner's transition, but you could at least bring up the question.

He was married before the reality show started, and my guess is it wasn't his idea to do it.Raw Dawgin' it;1732046 wrote:Yes. Did he have to do a reality show to keep his name out there? No. Did he have to make a spectacle and make sure everyone knew he was transitioning? No.

So you think Bruce Jenner decided to become a woman just for publicity? That is the only reason?Raw Dawgin' it;1732046 wrote:Yes. Did he have to do a reality show to keep his name out there? No. Did he have to make a spectacle and make sure everyone knew he was transitioning? No.

What about the time she began transitioning in the 80s? No one but close family even knew about it.
