One thing I will say.. you have to seriously pay attention to this show. There are a lot of characters and you can get lost easily.

Indeed. I've seen it described as a visual novel. I think that's pretty accurate.

Agreed, and both are pretty outlandish. For some reason I stuck with Shameless though.

Weeds was really good the first two seasons, but I think it was season three where I just got fed up and quit watching. That show was at it best when Doug, Andy, Shane, etc were being funny.

Just finished season 1 a couple days ago. Great show. I don't know when I will finish all the seasons, but I definitely will. This brought the lulz for me, and was a great way to end season 1.

Fully agree. Shameless is not only great, but has remained great and still very quality through Season 5. Weeds sucked once Agrestic burned down

I am finally catching up on the new season of Shameless, and it's still good. Emmy Rossum is on fire, and I'm starting to like Carl and Debbie's story lines better as well.

Carl is becoming a good one. Hate Ian's. Debbie's is pretty entertaining, I'm just not a fan of the actress.

Just finished the final episode of this series. I haven't seen some of the other shows that you all would consider the GOAT, but the Wire is definitely up there for me. Amazing writing, and they finished off the series perfectly tying everything pretty much into a cycle.

The best thing about that show is the directing and thought process to (almost???) never use any effect music. I haven't seen the show in forever, so, maybe there are some scenes when it's used but I don't recall. The best scenes are the chases, shoot outs, etc that have no effect music/sounds/whatever. It's just diologue and action.

The scene when Kima gets shot is a perfect example of this.

Not about The Wire, but another show...

I'm about finished with Season 2 of Boardwalk Empire. It's boring the fuck out of me, but I've heard great things, and that's the only thing keeping me into it. Is it worth it?

Boardwalk is great but ANY show that you are incredibly bored with 20+ episodes in probably isn't for you lol

I found myself on my laptop not paying much attention every Sunday/Monday when I would watch. Finally decided to just stop. Loved the premise, and the actors, but it was just too slow moving.

Most people who I know who watched really liked it though.
