Lol there may not be many Genoa posters in here yet, but there are certaintly some interesting and comical responses.
Genoa's 2010 schedule has not yet been released, to my knowledge, so I am going to have to assume they will have the same schedule out of conference in Rossford, Oak Harbor, Port Clinton, and Northwood. All four of them to be played at home. I don't see much coming from Rossford or Port Clinton, but Northwood will definately be better next year. I believe they only lose players off their O-line and D-line, so they have plenty of skill players coming back. Oak Harbor will be interesting, they were better last year, and this year will likely be a make or break year for Coach May. SLL opponents are a bigger concern though. Eastwood and Lake will be good next year, but who else?
Genoa has 5 offensive (Sutter, Hayes, Szypka, Dufendock, Allgier) and 4 defensive (Wojo, Upham, Dufendock, Roberts) starters returning. That means there will be a lot of new faces coming in. In spite of this I still think Genoa will be very good next year and a favorite to win the SLL. Genoa is very deep in runningbacks again. Dufendock will get more carries, and Cuevas will be playing a lot of RB as well as linebacker. He played very well last year, but didn't get a lot of playing time due to the depth at his position. Sibby and Pickard will probably split carries.
I can hear a collective sigh of relief from the area when I say that there probably won't be many predicting a state championship or any threads questioning if Genoa is a lock for anything. Genoa will be deeper next year, but will be hardpressed finding replacements from last year's senior class. Who will be Genoa's QB next year? By the sounds of it Bryer probably wont be playing under center. Speiss said himself that Wonnell and Lester were the better TE's he has ever coached, who will fill in there?
