Long overdue. He's been done for awhile. I will agree that his reckless style was fun to watch. Would've been nicer to watch had he played for another team.

I'd be surprised if he wasn't.

Ehh I'm not so sure. Reading articles that ppl think it'll be a while.

Polamalu's final six quarters against Browns: Cleveland 59, Pittsburgh 13

Sad day in cleveland. Wish he'd play forever as he's been one of the worst safeties in the game past couple of seasons. Wonder who will jump on the piles now? Sharko?

Really? Didn't Fat Boy (Bettis) get in on a first ballot? If Bettis got in that quick, Polamalu should be a lock.

Doesn't bother me. He's deserving and probably the only Steeler I can stomach. A genuinely "good guy" who plays the game right and stays out of Georgia bathroom stalls.

Whats his record against Cleveland? Maybe 3 losses? Not bad for 12 seasons against a "rival."

12 years, 8 probowls, 2 rings, DPOY. Also, the epitome of how an athlete should carry themselves. I'm going with a first ballot lock. Considering his style, I'm somewhat surprised he lasted this long.

I'd like to see them address the position in the draft, but they never do what I want them to.

Troy was the only Steeler I didn't really "hate." I was hoping he played one more year, because I think he made the defense slower at this point. I don't think fat ass bettis deserved to be a first ballot HOFer, but Troy should easily be one. More so than people who think Hines Ward is a HOFer player.

Agreed. Bettis shouldn't have been a 1st ballot, Polamalu should be a 1st and Whines shouldn't even be in the HOF.

I don't know anyone who really "hates" Troy. Again, it's because of his style and how he carried himself. I wish more athletes were like that, but unfortunately it's becoming even more rare to see a player like him.

Here's the link I was referencing.

Never change philly fans

Not trying to troll here (Troy made a hell of a play), but when I think of Troy I always think of this play lol

Ha. Very memorable play no doubt! I that is when everyone found out that it is legal to tackle a player like that!

TP retiring, Ike Taylor retiring....

Defense needs a new direction to get back to its glory days. Expect heavily drafting on that side of the ball.

With that said...any steelers fans interested in season tickets? Think is may be the last season my buddies get them. Been a fun 10+ years but the 650 mile round trip just is too much to do often enough to justify keeping them. Someone from our group goes 4-5 times a year and we usually sold the rest, but now with the distance and the fact another friend just got 4 season tickets (after 20 year wait) in the new seats that are being put in the end zone and I can go 1-2 a year with free club/lower bowl tix it is just about time to sell them and they can just scalp tix when they go.
