What men? And what work? Are you going over there? If it means that much to you then you should go, as long as you pay your own way. Or are you like the politicians getting brave with someone else's life?steubbigred;1703235 wrote:go hug a tree and let the men do their work, that is unless you are one of them.

i would fight for my country . i do not agree with most politicians but i love my countrymen . we are in danger against pure evil and they are getting stronger . i hate war . i wish bush never started all this mess because he did . he went into iraq under false pretenses and caused all this mess . obama wanted to get us out of iraq and afghanastan but he obviously pulled out too soon in iraq and now we have this shit. politicians do nothing but fuck everything up but we americans are still targeted and we have to protect ourselves against these devils.Cleveland Buck;1703237 wrote:What men? Except this didn't happen. Jordan, including the family of the pilot, is rallying around the king and demanding revenge on ISIS. the mother fucking king of Jordan is even personally conducting airstrikes against ISIS.Rather than blame IS for the protracted hostage crisis, the public at large and members of the pilot’s family have turned on the government. They are hitting the streets and faulting Amman for putting Jordanians into harm’s way in a war they say is not their own.
The finger-pointing has given rise to something even stronger: a full-throated antiwar movement.
Rallies in solidarity with Kassasbeh have quickly turned into anti-coalition protests, with participants denouncing the US and its allies as “cowards” who are “using Jordanian blood” to fuel their war against the Islamic State.
Protesters have even gone as far as challenging King Abdullah himself – rallying outside the gates of the Royal Palace and demanding “Abdullah, why are we fighting?” or resorting to more personal jabs such as “Abdullah II, where are you?”
The anti-coalition movement has also flourished online. Activists have gathered under an Arabic hashtag on Twitter that translates as #NotOurWar, organizing protests, calling on Jordanian authorities to withdraw from the war against IS, and detailing the civilian deaths caused by coalition bombing runs.
meanwhile, while a veteran US soldier is taken prisoner and killed by ISIS, Obama wags his finger at them and hopes the problem goes away.

Personally conducting? He's getting in the jets himself and dropping missiles? Everything I've read says they're working closely with their allies and actually are depending on US military supplies.Glory Days;1703241 wrote:Except this didn't happen. His vows for revenge sound more threatening, but just as vague and lacking specific details.

Interesting. But I doubt he does, but it would be very cool if he did.
I am willing to go and fight and hope we do get called over.

not going to win without real boots on the ground. when he authorizes that, i'll know he is for real.TedSheckler;1703243 wrote:No he isn't. Didn't you hear him the other day? We're re-doubling our efforts against this "organization". He's not messing around anymore.

Far from true. The king has had a lot of military training but his pilot training is with attack helicopters not fighter jets. To my knowledge low flying attack helicopters have not yet engaged IS. You would have to have boots on the ground. Only in the areas in Iraq where the Iraqi army or the Kurds are engaging IS on the ground would it be possible. Turkey will not let anyone fly from their territory plus helicopters are much more susceptible to being downed by ground fire. Besides the king is an old man and likely quite rusty. I would however expect ramped up participation of the Jordanian air force but they will not put boots on the ground alone.thavoice;1703335 wrote:Interesting. Exactly. These evil people will need to be rooted out of the rubble to be totally defeated. I think the king would authorize it but only with the participation of other nations capable of getting the job done. Likely even with the participation of western troops. Ideally it would be great if a coalition of Arab troops could mop up this mess themselves.Glory Days;1703550 wrote:not going to win without real boots on the ground. when he authorizes that, i'll know he is for real.

actually I was referring to Obama. I already know the king of Jordan means business when he executed those 2 prisoners within hours of finding out about their pilot.majorspark;1703584 wrote:Exactly. Even IF (and that's a big IF) Christians were totally in the wrong and grossly barbaric, what happened 1000 years ago cannot be used as a justification for barbarism today.

Careful, you're using logic in your posts. Steub doesn't know how to do that.HitsRus;1704065 wrote:Even IF (and that's a big IF) Christians were totally in the wrong and grossly barbaric, what happened 1000 years ago cannot be used as a justification for barbarism today.

Looks like Obama is going to seek Congressional authorization for the use of military force against IS. Lets hope Congress dose not ties his hands nor the POTUS tie his own. We don't need another Afghanistan or worse. Time to take the gloves off.Glory Days;1703598 wrote:actually I was referring to Obama. Obama did not believe he needed it before so at least some major ramp up of military force is afoot.

severe carpet bombing of the city of raqqa is required . we would eliminate a huge portion of these devils and put out the misory of the slaves they have . if we don't destroy that city by world war 2 standards with bombardment then lets send in the marines and special forces and fuck these devil bastards right up the ass . they need to be delt with in the most violent and hostile manner that we can provide for them .
france needs to reopen devils island and the penile colony in french guiana so the world can store all these demented people that want to join daesh.

SHe very well may be dead, but I highly doubt it was the result of those Jordanian airstrikes.......They are just trying to make a divide.
To be honest....even if those Jordanian strikes did kill her, it shouldnt hinder our resolve to eradicate them from the earth. SHit happens in war, sometimes you kill the good guys, and even if she was killed in airstrike it wont make me go against Jordan being involved in this fight.
