Difference is, Barrett is an anticipation passer and Cardale is a "I have a cannon and don't have to throw it until they're open" passer. Barrett is by no mean weak armed.

Just got back to Tucson after a 14 hour drive. Still got another 2 hours up to Phoenix tomorrow morning.

I've never been more happy to be physically and mentally drained in my entire life. That whole trip; starting with watching the Cowboys lose with Terry to partying Sunday night and getting blitzed during the tailgate to the game itself and the indescribable experience of being there. Wow. Just wow.

Uh...I guess you hadn't checked out Bama's most recent losses the past few seasons, minus this OSU win this year. They were against mobile QB's who got out of the pocket and broke down the defense. Something that Miller does quite well.

So who was the dumbass that claimed OSU would be better off missing the playoff?

Believer? Maybe?

I definitely stated that OSU "wasn't good enough to make the playoff and I was ok with it" earlier in the season.

But after that Wisky beatdown, I was all in on wanting them to make it.

OSU needed a HUGE, impressive win over Wisky to even make the playoff.
One has to wonder what the OSU/Wisky outcome would have been with Barrett as the QB? Do they win? No doubt they win. Do they dominate like they did? Hard to say yes.

When Barrett got hurt it appeared they put a renewed importance on running the ball. Zeke had 17 carries in the UM game for 120 or so. He had about a 45 yard run late in the game and without that he was only under 80. The OL started to just take over. It was almost like they realized with having the 3rd QB they needed to carry the team.

Who knows if they even make the playoffs with Barrett. Good chance they dont dominate like they did as they went into that game with 'us against the world' attitude.

That's not what believer(I think) said.

It was stated that OSU would be better off not making it because another blowout would be too much to handle. In some other combination of words.

Yes.

If the Buckeyes do manage to slide into a playoff spot (mostly because of the program name, the $4 Million Super Coach, and the fans travel well) OSU can count on getting drilled....probably by Alabama.

Ohio State would be better off narrowly missing the playoff's and landing a spot in either the Fiesta Bowl or Cotton Bowl where they can play a PAC 12 or Big 12 also-ran (TCU perhaps?) and have a much better shot at coming out with a win.

Then we can all get together the day after and start the whining and the "coulda, woulda, shoulda" talk

The type of talent and depth that UM is bringing in will keep them in title contention for years to come, no doubt about that.

"They were subbing out a lot and you could tell they were kind of huffing and puffing," Ohio State junior offensive tackle Taylor Decker said following the win over the Ducks. "We were just hitting them and hitting them and hitting them, just going right at them right up the middle. Just running the ball up the middle and we know we're a tough, physical team and we can assert our will on people."

I recorded all the various ESPN broadcasts of the game. I watched the one with Wilbon, Bilas, Schlereth, etc last night. I might go through the film room broadcast tonight. Those babies are going to be on my DVR for a while.

They also mentioned the ref looked like Bob Newhardt during that broadcast. Newhardt actually tweeted about it too, because people must have been blowing him up.

Re-watching the game on BTN right now. The Buckeyes defense, even when they were giving up yards, was really hitting hard. Makes it hard to run tempo when you're just a little slower getting off the ground. I think next year we see this defense as a dominant Silver Bullet unit.

I don't think Mariota was right after that one specific hit when he kept it and ran right. I believe it was the drive where they didn't kick the FG and turned it over on downs. He got fucking rocked.
