At my age, I'm personally seeing some of that "long ball" action.
I'm really looking forward to Sunday's game, though.
Go Browns!

First of all, what I was saying in that post is that the Cleveland Browns staff are doing everything they can to make this a win-win for Manziel. A. He goes 3-0 over the next three weeks and leads us to the playoffs, or B. He makes some rookie mistakes but gains valuable experience heading into next season. The fact is, even Johnny said is his press conference that things didn't start "clicking" for him until a week or two ago. He essentially admitted that he wasn't ready to start at the beginning of the year, and the PERCENTAGES (since I know you love them) lean HEAVILY in favor of not starting rookie QB's to let them learn at first. While this isn't the case for every QB, a large majority of QB's in the NFL have benefitted from NOT STARTING right out of the gate.Footwedge;1685340 wrote:You make it sound like there's never been a rookie quarterback that has succeeded right out of the gate. At the very minimum, Manziel should have been the starter in the Atlanta game...after Hoyer's pathetic game against Houston. And then....after a pile of puke performance against Atlanta, the stubborn coach STILL started Hoyer against the Bills.
After 3 weeks, this town will be pissed beyond belief regarding blowing a sure pop playoff shot.
Also, it's Taylor Gabriel lol

Johnny never said this. In fact 4 weeks ago he made it clear that he was ready. Moreover his "not ready yet" comment was made very early in the preseason, probably right after the first exhibition game.Dr. KnOiTaLL;1685384 wrote: even Johnny said is his press conference that things didn't start "clicking" for him until a week or two ago. l
Also, for those that hate Manziel because of his antics, he is just about the most humble and polished guys I've ever heard in addressing the media.

Just make sure you don't disappear in 3 weeks. I want to hear again how the franchise quarterback isn't on the roster right now.se-alum;1685403 wrote:He's a Browns fan though!

Oh, I'll be here. I'm happy when the Browns are winning, unlike you, so if Manziel plays well, I'll be stoked.Footwedge;1685415 wrote:Just make sure you don't disappear in 3 weeks. I want to hear again how the franchise quarterback isn't on the roster right now.

Try watching his presser from yesterday... I watched it again to make sure I wasn't hearing things.Footwedge;1685413 wrote:Johnny never said this. In fact 4 weeks ago he made it clear that he was ready.
2:30 "The time that I did sit benefitted me a TON."
4:39 "Like I said, scout team, the reps I did get helped tremendously this year. Especially the last 3 or 4 weeks, I've felt a difference in those reps. Not that I've taken them anymore seriously, but for whatever reason they just seemed to click a little more as the season wore on."
Sounds like, even if he wished he could've started at the beginning of the season, he now recognizes that he is a better player today as a result of sitting/learning early on.

I wonder what the Browns could get in return for hoyer from the cardinals.
They're 11-4 but are going to be down to Ryan lindley, their third string QB.
If you can get any draft pick, I would make the move.

Yeah, it would be absolutely horrible if the Browns won out. We're all hoping they don't so we can say "in your face" to FW. :rolleyes:HighRoller74;1685425 wrote:I just love how he assumes everyone that criticizes his lord and savior is gonna be pissed off the in the Browns are winning, and JF plays lights out.

Obviously putting the cart before the horse but if Manziel balls out over the next three weeks, the Browns could possibly have a dilemma. I could see Kyle Shanahan being one and done, landing a head coaching gig somewhere. Manziel would be looking at a second OC in 2 years.
Not sure if it was mentioned earlier but I was absolutely floored when I heard Pettine has decided to stick with Cundiff. I think there are still veterans like Akers & Tynes out there available.

Don't you think that with what Shanahan has done with this offense, he might get a strong look from someone? Same can be said for other teams who have had turnaround years. Shanahan has been looked at before, I beleive, after RGIII's rookie year, but the transformation (offensively) of the Browns from an "also ran" to a potential playoff contender might be his most impressive work yet. I'd hate to see him go, especially if the offense is impressive when JFF starts.like_that;1685452 wrote:Now where would you come up with that?

I don't think he is even close to being HC material. The last few weeks the offense has become very predictable and he has made some stupid fucking calls (i.e. Twice throwing inside the 5 when we have crowell). If a team is dumb enough to hire him then so be it, I just don't see it.BR1986FB;1685453 wrote:Don't you think that with what Shanahan has done with this offense, he might get a strong look from someone? If that were to happen, that would be a good problem to have.

I'd prefer to keep him around so Manziel would have some continuity.
