BREAKING NEWS: Straight from UM AD Jim Hackett. Harbaugh's salary will be roughly $5M a year, plus incentives, same basic contract as 49ers

Jim Harbaugh told Hackett he did NOT want to be the highest paid coach in CFB, or even the Big Ten. More concerned with pay for assistants.

Saying all the right things right now. Next he needs to do is do something similar that Tressel did and mention beating the biggest rival they have.

Michigan State.

But isn't he the highest paid? Saw he's making about 500k base more than Urban.

No idea, but it is much less than the 8 million/year that was first reported.

I was going by this. I thought it seemed high for him but the others seem to be accurate. IDK.

Think it could be 5.6 after all incentives. But I think we were saying base.

Then it would 2 mill based on your article. Either way doubtful it's the 2nd highest in country.

Ferentz a top ten paid coach. That brings the lulz.
REmember the years his name would come up in possible NFL openings because he ran a pro style offense? Well, that must have helped him negotiate some nice raises!

So in other words, there will be 3 more browns coaches while he serves his initial contract?
As if the OC will last that long, i could see footwedge in 2021 starting a thread wanting to sign harbaugh...

Heard many times D'Antonio is 2nd highest paid coach in the country. Base salary is meaningless when they are getting all these guaranteed "incentives".

Well then I'd bet Harbaugh is making a lot more than 5 with his incentives, since reportedly can go up to 8.

TTUN being elite again will be good for the national perception of the B1G, but I could give a rats ass whether they're ever elite again as far as the rivalry is concerned. They're that team up north--game (always) on.
I they continue to suck, the rivalry will diminish. A rivalry is only good if there is some risk at stake. Winning every single year is like the series with Indiana or Northwestern. The entire reason Michigan is our rival is because we're the two best teams in the big ten historically.

We knew Hoke would be fired at season's end. We knew the AD would be "fired" we just didn't know when.

We knew Harbaugh would be offered the job....and we know they want Warde Manuel to be the new AD.

Will they come to terms and will they accept.

Time will tell.
Time has in fact told us that my sources were right on both counts. First Harbaugh then Manuel.
