Well you can tell there are about 25 men and 3 women in our department.

A couple guys brought in Krispy Kreme donuts.

3 crock pots of meatballs

2 crock pots of weenies in bbq sauce.

3 meat and cheese trays (none from Chiefs)

5 bags of chips

Very little "good" food and lots of deserts......

My company doesn't do potlucks; we do real parties with real food. Sorry about your lucky with your poverty company parties.

We do that too. Xmas party was lavish.

Thanksgiving is potluck time. I also work for a food company, so these foodie nerds know wtf they are doing.

Right totally! More than likely the cost of our Christmas party alone was 3x your salary. Again, enjoy your poverty potluck.

I use the cheese smokies, then add a can of beer to the bbq sauce.

I know you are a caricature, but at least our place of work, the business people can't just have a Christmas party and not invite the 600 distribution center employees. That's why my current employer doesn't have one. The two worlds would not co-exist very well.

That said, when I worked for huge companies, our office would rent out the browns club lounge or the steakhouse atrium downtown and invite the entire office + a date (600 or so employees?) and have open bars, full meal, hour dourves, the whole 9 yards. Shit was legit.

Never said this was our "company party". It's just a thing we do in addition to the dinner at the "Back 40" and stuff. So get out of here with your "poverty company" crap.

Agreed. Most company "parties" aren't potluck deals. The potluck is usually done, in addition to, an official party. My company won't do a potluck but they did go see the Cleveland Orchestra and had some seven course meal at some swanky restaurant in Cleveland. I didn't attend but heard it was a good time.

Would much rather make a 6 figure salary in my 20's than hang around a bunch of poor family-like members.

"back 40" is for poor people, or HS kids for homecoming thinking they are taking their dates to a fancy place!

BTW..last time I was there the hostess was so smoking hot, and from what she was wearing I bet just went a bit north to work at one of those ballet's in Ft wayne later in the evening...

The only thing that is an act is pretending potlucks are for anyone but the lowest denominator of society. I'm trying to be nice here.

I don't understand the allure of having people with little to no culinary experience create food in an unsanitary home kitchen to share with their co-workers.

Tells me all I need to know about you. Do you carry a bottle of purell in the pocket of your fitted jeans? You grab door knobs with a tissue? You wipe the toilet seat even at your own home? You NEVER use a public restroom? And you drive some pu**y looking 2 door sport car....what a pu**y!!!
