Flying from Boston to Lexington, KY. Went through Detroit (which always sucks). Had plane delayed because the latrine was broken. It was a 45 minute flight. Just delayed arriving in Lexington by 3-5 hours, can't remember.

Coming back from Ocho Rios, Jamaica on the honeymoon. Flight into Ocho Rios was delayed arrival, so our departing time was delayed...we boarded late, landed in Charlotte, NC late. Had 15 minutes to get from our gate through customs and to our gate in order to not miss our flight. Shocking enough...we made it. First and only time I've had to run through the airport.

Flying to Gothenburg, Sweden from Columbus. I had two stops, one in Chicago, then in Copenhagen, before making it to Gothenburg. For some reason, when we got to Gothenburg, we were scheduled to fly on a plane that was either overbooked or something (can't remember). We had a layover for an hour and a half for the first plan that left Copenhagen for Gothenburg...which wasn't ours we find out when we try to board. The second plane from Copenhagen to Gothenburg left another 4+ hours later. So...we had to wait in the airport for 6+ hours when we could've rented a car and made the drive in 3 (if it were allowed).

Thankfully, nothing too awful. Just a hassle here and there.

Coming back from spring break I got stuck in a blizzard in Georgia. Stayed a night in the car. Got lucky after waiting another day and got a hotel room.
People in Georgia do not know how to drive in snow.

My company that I worked at back then changed their travel policies to allow business class for any flight over 6 hours (basically over an ocean)...1 week after I got back from India...I was so pissed.

I did use it to fly business class to China, and a few trips to Europe after the policy change, but that whole India trip was coach.

Not to mention trains in India are just like you see in spoof movies. We traveled in "first class" of the train up front and it was ok, but still would be the worst part of any train here in the US. The back of the train must have had 400 Indians per car, inside, hanging off the side, sitting on top, you name it.

Why the hell didn't you guys have drivers? When I was there we had these two dudes who would literally drive us, sleep all day or who knows what and be there sleeping when we came out waiting for us. I doubt it was remotely expensive. And same dude drove us the 6 hour round trip to the Taj, and I think it cost less than $100 for 3 of us. Everything just feels so sketchy there because you have no idea what the heck they are saying, then you get in their car and they can basically take you anywhere they want, and you have no idea if they understood what you said. Don't plan on ever going back.

A 14 hour plane ride in coach would have been enough to tell my Company I wasn't going and they could find somewhere else.

We did have a driver on the way to the city/plant but that was because of the missed flights/connections we were missing the trains. We had a driver every day while in the main city take us back and forth to the plant.

Now that I "know" if I ever have to go back, I will insist on a driver everywhere and no taxis/trains (for whatever it is worth, I will refuse to go to India anyway).

The 2 nights I stayed in Kalcutta it was at the Taj Bengal (Bengal is the 'state' that Kalcutta is in, it is the same chain as the Taj Mahal). To this day it was the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in...going in and out was like going through TSA airport security...and 40 feet outside the hotel it was the worst looking slums you've ever seen with homeless everywhere.
