No reason to be bitter. You'll get back one day.

until the last two years it was big points for Wooster assuming they could have won and my point is it would not have mattered anyway because they were not in a place to get to the playoffs anyway. You can not deny that.

Reality can hurt when the well runs dry. We went through it in the 90's when we joined the Federal League. Although we did win the small school division our first year in it. Don't worry, it may take a bit, but the talent level will come back around.

Not denying anything but that game was scheduled between conference foes and set up as a final game. I would imagine it would stop being scheduled if not a conference game.

Maybe we will see...but seems like a lot of stuff would have to happen and some of it seems to be a long shot.

Consolidate with Wooster and become a super power!

Wooster would be played in weeks 1, 2, or 3....week 1 against Woo would be interesting!

That's my point, Wooster already has a nice schedule for week 1, 2 and 3 which could help them improve and, with wins, get them closer to playoffs. Playing a small D in a small school conference would not.

In the past when we were not in the same leagues, All Ohio for example, we still managed to keep wooster in the 10th week, so it comes down to school and league admin to decide if that would still be possible. Also if Orrville drops out of OCC there would probably be a snowball effect with the smaller schools like Clear Fork moving on also. So the OCC would be looking for larger schools to join and thus wooster might want a smaller school on the nonleague schedule.

That was in the past. Most leagues are not operating that way today.

The OCC has already contacted smaller schools than Wooster about openings. BUT, with Wooster being the largest school in the OCC they already are playing smaller schools. The Clear Fork district enrollment has increased since joining the OCC and looks to continue.

Triway seems to be as much of a rivalry and could take the week 10 spot, but I still want to play Wooster if possible. I think that game means more to us than them because we are the underdog and have nothing to lose. It would be more of a disappointment to the older ex players than the younger ones.

I agree and I REALLY do not want to see the Wooster game go away...but I could see it disappearing off of the schedule and if it did, I would not be upset at all.

I always enjoyed beating Triway more than Wooster in any sport. The Wooster game was special, but it always felt better beating Triway IMO.

I never looked at beating Triway as an accomplishment. That was supposed to happen. I guess that is the difference to me.

I felt the same, but still enjoyed beating them more! I also felt the same about Wooster...I thought beating them was supposed to happen.

Look at basketball & football the last decade. We're much more closely aligned with Triway than Wooster IMO. More "memorable" moments too against the Titans it seems.

It's not the 80's anymore when a victory over the Titans is a given.

I would include the 90's in that time period also...

The rivalry with Triway was built in basketball during the AOL days (Smitty teams vs. Montgomery teams). Each team always had a few guys who also played football, so it usually spilled over to the football field as well. This is why I have always enjoyed a win over the Triway more than Wooster. It was the same for Wooster in terms of kids playing both football and basketball, but the Triway game always had a different ring to it for me!

Orrville holds off Norwayne late to squeeze out the win. Being up 16 at half we need to come out and put a foot on their throat. This team needs to find that killer instinct. This game never should have been this close, but credit Norwayne...they played much better defense in the second half, shut down Luke Smith, and made some big shots.

If we can get that same effort from Amir, Conway continues to play the way he has lately, and Luke gets his, we will be a tough team to beat.

Rivalry will always be there. Heck, wasn't Wooster & Triway each the only teams to beat two of your Basketball State Championship teams?

Yep...our 92 state team's only loss was to Wooster and the 96 team's only loss was to Triway. I agree, the rivalry will always be there and I hope it stays that way. However, if the OCC and PAC each have a shake-up, then that could change things for the WOO-ORR football game.
