There's also a horrible article on Sports Illustrated about it. LeBron said it correctly in the postgame press conference. Players make mistakes, and coaches make mistakes. That's why they're a team. They work together toward a common goal. I'm glad that Blatt isn't so arrogant that he didn't own up to the fact that it may have been a mistake. The media tries to do this to every coach LeBron has played for, and it's not any different in this case. It happened with Mike Brown (even though he obviously sucked), it happened with Spoelstra, and is now happening to Blatt. Yes, he's a rookie coach in the NBA, but has a tremendous resume, and has seemingly (with the support on the best player on the planet) really improved the chemistry of this squad in a very limited amount of time. I HOPE we don't give him the ax, because toward the end of the season it seemed like things were just starting to roll!

From the NBA rule book...
RULE NO. 12—FOULS AND PENALTIES A. Technical Foul
Section I—Excessive Timeouts
a. Requests for a timeout in excess of the authorized number shall be granted and a technical foul shall be assessed. Following the timeout and free throw attempt, the ball will be awarded to the team which shot the free throw and play shall resume with a throw-in nearest the spot where play was interrupted.

Watched LeBron's media session after practice today. Someone asked about him changing the play and he likened it to a quarterback calling an audible. Definitely a smart way of putting it.

Someone also mentioned the heat Blatt has gotten for almost calling the timeout, and LeBron answered with, "he's taking heat because he's coaching me. That's all that's about." "Anybody that associates with me takes heat. Kevin Love didn't get heat for 7 years, then he teams with me and gets heat." It's the truth, lol.

Maybe that's how the rule was in 1950's JV basketball, but that's not the NBA rule lol

Well that's news to me. They obviously have made an exception to the rule. The rule has always been and still is...the team keeps possession. Apparently they feel that calling a TO without having one is different than any other technical foul. They have changed this rule since the famous Phoenix/ Boston triple overtime game.

Phoenix was down one, had no time outs left. and deliberately called a time out knowing that they didn't have one. The reason? Paul Westfall, the Phoenix coach was allowed to inbound from half court instead of from underneath his own hoop. The pass went in and Garfield Heard hit the shot sending it to a third overtime.

Correct, a few rules have been changed in the last 40 years.

What's that there line across the halfway point of the court and if players cross it then go back its a violation? News to me you cant do that.

Thibs says Gasol is feeling a little better but they want to see how he warms up in shootaround and before game before making final decision

Thibodeau said Gasol is gametime decision, feels a little better. Would have to do shootaround and warm up without incident

Regardless of it Gasol plays tonight, the Cavs are going to take game 5. Lebron James is not going to lose a series to the freakin' Bulls lead by Derrick Rose. LOL.

You want to talk about "jinxes" and "reverse jinxes?" There's your jinx. Every time he "guarantees" something it seems like it crashes & burns. So cocksure the Cavs are going to win it all with as Heretic refers it "HOT TAEKS."

I think they can get by Chicago but people are fooling themselves if they don't think this will be a dogfight. yes, the Bulls are hobbled too but the Cavs best player (LBJ) and their 2nd/3rd best players (KI/Love) are either pretty much worthless (meaning Kyrie doesn't look like he can function and is just a "body" out there) or out.

I watch them and its been a tough series. The reality is, Lebron has played like complete trash the first 4 games and we are still tied 2-2. I expect Lebron to put this team on his back and carry them to an easy win tonight and take the series in Chicago in game 6.

Does anyone really believe a Lebron James in his prime is going to lose to the Bulls? They don't have MJ; FYI.

I will agree with him that LBJ has been trash in this series. Even the local radio guys are waiting for a 42-12-6 type of game out of him.

This series is on Lebron, not one legged Kyrie. Does anyone remember the team Lebron lead to the finals in '07 against the Spurs? That team was the worst fucking team ever to make the finals but we had this guy named Lebron James and he put the team on his back and carried them. Yes, they got swept, but Lebron is about 30x the player he was in '07 and even without Love/Irving, this team is still better than the team back in '07.
