I not "afraid" of anything. I just think the nut hugging of the SEC as a whole is plain retarded. I mean, did you see some of the crap on BSPN this weekend, where idiot anchors had 3 SEC listed in the playoff, as of now? GTFO.

I get that. I really do. I think it's absurd that Ole Miss and Miss State jumped from #11 and #12 to tied for #3 after a win. I understand your point with that. But one thing we can agree on is that not all conferences are equal. The best team in one conference (and I mean any conference) could be a mid-tier team in another conference and vice versa. In a situation where there are not even enough spots to account for all of the conference champions, then each spot should be at-large. You'd have to evaluate all teams with the same record and try to determine who is the best of those teams to get into the playoffs.

Could, should. Can't prove it. But what you can prove is that your conference champion is the best in your conference. Arguing against this goes in the face of the entire purpose of having a champion and is disingenuous to sports in general.

I'm not alone in that thinking. The NFL, MLB, NBA, and pretty much every other sport that has playoffs feels that same way. That's why there are wild card teams. In my opinion, when you only have 4 teams that can make a playoff, you need to make all 4 teams wild card teams. We just have a difference of opinion here. Or we could have a system which eliminates subjectivity as much as possible to determine a national championship. Conferences with large media deals shouldn't get preferential treatment because they are just better because we say so. How do we know Miss St wouldn't finish dead last in the B1G or Pac-12? Again, if SEC teams feel they are being hindered because their conference is so much stronger than every other conference, they are free to leave and join another conference. I'd love to have LSU, Alabama, and Auburn in the B1G so we can watch them get dismantled week in, week out against our best teams.

So why would a team that just lost a conference championship game get another shot??? Who cares if they "could win"....probably any one of a dozen teams "could" on any given day beat any of the other top dozen. The National Championship should be about and for teams that take care of business all season long. That starts by winning your conference.

Not true. CBS gets the pick for 10 weeks of the year which SEC game they want to air. However, the "big" SEC contract is still with the ESPN family of networks.

The only difference with CBS is outside of Army/Navy, the Gator Bowl and the Sun Bowl, they don't air any other college football. ESPN on the other hand, has contracts with every other conference.
