The season schedule should be just to get you to the playoffs. The playoffs are when you play your best and become national champion. If that means 2 or 3 teams from the same conference are good enough to get in the playoff, so be it.
Or we could have a system which eliminates subjectivity as much as possible to determine a national championship. Conferences with large media deals shouldn't get preferential treatment because they are just better because we say so. How do we know Miss St wouldn't finish dead last in the B1G or Pac-12? Again, if SEC teams feel they are being hindered because their conference is so much stronger than every other conference, they are free to leave and join another conference. I'd love to have LSU, Alabama, and Auburn in the B1G so we can watch them get dismantled week in, week out against our best teams.
Remember, it wasn't long ago when A&M and Mizzou were middle of the road B12 teams and now are contenders year in year out in the SEC West(A&M) and East(Mizzou). The bias is real.
