Yeah, my plan is to run with my Moto X for at least 3 years, but I am hoping to squeeze 4 years out of it. My wife should be good with the iPhone 6 for just as long.

Already dropped my new phone....it survived without a scratch or nick!

VZW offers a free screen replacement on the Turbo, so I figured it must be one tough-ass phone...so no case for me.

Full retail isn't horrible if I keep it for 3+ years....$600 all-in for the 64gig (got $100 from VZW for my 5-yr old Droid). $400 more than on contract, but I save that in a year keeping my unlimited and avoiding charges for hotel/airport wifi.

XLTE is sweet! I've hit speeds on my phone up to 50Mbs...the usb tether is touchy and seems to swing between pretty bad up to @25Mbs

How many people on here honestly like Android over Apple? I'm not trying to be a smart ass or anything but almost everyone I know has switched to Apple because of the bugginess that comes with Android. Is Android improving its quality now?

I have been using Android devices since Motorola's first Droid phone. I have honestly never experienced any bugginess that would make me want to leave the platform. It has always been pretty seamless for me and very user friendly. Sometimes there are apps that act funny after an update, but that is going to happen no matter what platform you are using.

I do honestly like Android over Apple. However, I will say that the best cameras that I have seen are still on iPhones.

I have had an Android phone ever since the original droid. Every chick I've dated in that time frame has had an iPhone. And I've perferred my phone to theirs everytime. I've never had one problem with any of my Android phones.

I will agree with Sherm that the only thing I've liked better on the iPhone is the camera. But what the fuck do I need a great camera on my phone for?

I've gone iphone, android, iphone and now back to android on my smartphones. They are both great, it just depends what you're looking for in an OS.

I have been using an Android phone for a while now and have used iPhones from time to time in the past. Both have their pros and cons like anything else. I think Android takes a PR hit on low end phones that don't receive the R&D like the higher end phones do. I also like the idea that Google doesn't try and lock you into their ecosystem as much with their products. Unless you are using a Google wear device, you can switch between and Android device and an iOS device fairly easily. If you are locked into Apple's applications, you don't really have a choice without leaving some of their services behind.

I definitely prefer Android. I've had three different devices and have had minimal issues with all of them. I have zero desire to ever own an iPhone.

I have the LG G3 now and absolutely love it. I think the camera is amazing.

Say what? Apple products were notorious for their awful cameras. The new ones are better, but the older ones just had awful cameras.

I had an IPad2 and didn't care, at all, for IOS. If I want to run my Android phone like an IPhone (a.k.a a toy that launches apps), I have no issues. My issues usually stem from pushing my phone beyond the limits of its hardware, because I can.

They've had great cameras for a while now. My iPhone 5 camera blows away the camera on my new Moto X.

Maybe they are applying filters to the image?

I'm very excited. Lollipop is the reason I switched to Android in the first place. I've been waiting since Google announced it back in June.

When it says that the OTA updates are rolling out to phones, what exactly does that mean? If I have one of the models that the update is going to am I not necessarily going to see it right away? How do they determine the order of who gets the update?

This kinda sucks coming from iOS where everyone gets the update at once. I'm one impatient SOB.

Moto does a good job with their updates and I am sure you will get it soon. You need to see if our board moto rep can get you in on the soak test the next time.

On this subject, I just installed lollipop on my nexus 7 and I am really impressed. I will now have to wait patiently for it to arive on my first gen moto x.

They roll it out for a number of reasons. If there is any type of glitch, it only affects a small customer base instead of all Moto customers at once. It gives them a chance to cut off issues before they are real issues. But the roll out time is usually very quick. Once they start, it's not long before it's out to everyone. The groups get larger and larger with each portion of the rollout, so you should have it very soon.

I wish I could get people into the soak test. If I did, I wouldn't be sitting around waiting for the newest software on my personal line. For this update, that doesn't hold water since I put the Nexus on my personal line when I got it.
