Yeah we get it

The bengals are injury depleted in their WR core.

The Bengals got their ass kicked by the colts when they were healthy. They actually played better this game.

You definitely are. I don't see how anyone who has watched Dalton play the last 4 years can say he can lead a team.

Green, Burfict, Maualuga, Eifert, Jones, Leon Hall missed that game.

I stand corrected on that, but the Colts are simply a better team than the bengals. You guys remind me of steelers fans who use injuries as an excuse any chance you get. It's a part of the game. Most of the AFC North was hit with shitty injuries/suspensions this year.

Dalton played all 17 games. That's your problem. :)

It's the NFL. Every team has injuries every year.

True, but people don't realize how big of a loss Burfict and Green are. Maybe it's Cincy's fault for relying on those 2 players so heavily, but they do.

Other guys they could sustain, but those guys completely change what the team does on that side of the ball.

My question is...both are proven to be injury prone now. Fool me one season, fine. Continually allowing it to happen, that's another.

Colts are playing without last years defensive player of the year. Many games with a banged up Freeman (saw what he means to them today). Last year they played without Reggie Wayne. Andrew Luck is obviously much better than Dalton, but losing Wayne didn't set them back a bit. Just had guys like Griff Whalen make plays.

Cincy also still won 10 games this year. I don't think Burfict and Green give them more than 11 wins this season, and I don't think they beat the colts still.

Nobody mentioned the Burfict, Eiffert, and Jones injuries after the Denver game. Not having those guys is no excuse, they didn't play the vast majority of the season.

True, but in the end, it's a lot to overcome.

One overlying theme. Take Green off the game plan, it's a totally different team. He makes the entire offense that much better.

I don't know if Dalton is capable or not. At times he looks like he is, but when it counts the most, he doesn't. That obviously is a huge red flag. I do think this year is difficult to assess regarding him because they lost their #2 WR and #1 TE. Injuries happen, and the best teams respond in spite of them. He still had Green for most of the year, Gio/Hill and Sanu (who really came back down to earth the last half of the season). They won ten games this season, but they beat up on the NFC South, Titans, Jaguars, Browns when they had basically given up, etc. They beat who they should have, and lost to the better teams, with the exception being Denver.

Maybe question isn't if Dalton is capable or not, but more so what other options are there? IMO, with the exception of the AFC west, each division has at least one team who has to address the QB this offseason. Free agency and the draft seem thin at the QB position this year. Their best bet would be to take a QB in the middle and hope they find someone special.

Regarding today's game, even with Green, Burfict, or whoever, the Bengals still don't win. Indianapolis is the better team and I think they beat Denver next week. Dalton did as much as you could have asked today. They took some shots downfield, but he's throwing to fucking Tate and Little after-all. In the beginning, it looked like they had a plan with Gio, Burkhead, Hill, etc. But it's like they ran out of ideas in the second half. Even with a healthy Green, that offense isn't keeping pace with Luck. Probably Dalton would have had an interception or two trying to force some passes to Green.

I wouldn't be surprised if Marvin was let go. His post-game pressers had a lot of those "I plan to be back" lines that guys say before they end up fired. But like the QB, I think the head coach is also difficult in finding a replacement. He and Dalton are basically the same. You know what you're gonna get, and it's usually better than average but never quite good enough. You can let them go, but how likely will you find someone better?

I've honestly wondered about this all season. Marvin Jones is suppose to be back halfway through the season then ends up on IR with a non-related injury. Eifert is suppose to be back for the first Browns game and ends up on IR. What the fuck?? I don't give a shit what they do with Marvin, but fire whoever is in charge of the medical staff.

Man, I guess I could have used all of Pittsburgh's defensive injuries over the course of the season as the reason they lost to Baltimore last night. While ignoring how they were able to win their division (beating down the Bengals twice late in the season) while suffering from those same injuries.

Teams have injuries. Some teams overcome them; others just use them as an excuse while adding to their recent history of losing every single playoff game they're lucky enough to play in while trotting out the worst big-game QB in the NFL to fail time and time again.

Although I can understand why a couple of their fans are still trying to be in Dalton's corner. They were too good to be able to draft any QB who could help them in the near future, and the upcoming free agent class is loaded with guys who suck just as bad as Dalton, if not worse.

This game is coming together nicely.

Dallas goes down by a few scores and forced to pass, Romo goes Romo.

Romo going Romo vs. Detroit going Detroit (Stafford opening the third with a quick pick) might lead to this being the worst second half of offensive football in the NFL's history.
