That's what I said. Meritorious or not, f'ing wait until the middle of the day when you can be held immediately accountable for your decision and not have an entire night of PR people coming up with what you should say.

No kidding. I heard that Anheuser Busch, who is a $1 billion+ sponsor isn't pleased with the recent events (Rice, AP, etc) and that Nike, who is known for child labor issues in foreign countries (hypocrites) is pretty pissed too.

You see Arians response?

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/09/16/arian-foster-fires-back-at-anheuser-busch/

He went a little off the deep end logically, but his initial point is so true. "Selling poison on that high horse."

Yep, read it on Deadspin. If he stopped after his first 2-3 tweets, he'd have had a great case, but like you said, kind of got out there when he kept typing.

I'm pretty old school but "harshly discipling a 1 year old" should be "no Dora the Explorer for a week" not lighting them up.

Yeah he said he tries not to leave bruises. And said he would consider using switched on his daughter.

Lol might as well drop Reggie bush from fantasy too. How dumb can you be

When I was a kid, you got to pick your own switch. In fact, my father was so terrifying that I slept under our camper (outside) for a couple of days to avoid him when I lost one of his prized possessions but what AP did was way over the line. You don't hit a kid on the bare legs, let alone the FRONT bare legs, with a switch. When we got the switch you got hit on the ass and you were usually wearing pants or shorts. The ass, NOT the bare legs.

Dumb enough to say it.

Smart enough to apparently backtrack on his comments.

Dumb enough to backtrack in a "uh, not that I do stuff like that, you know. yeah." manner.

Yeah. I got a switch from my grandmother once and, from my parents, the flyswatter, but it never was "bare-ass let's get the blood flowing" sort of thing -- more of a 1-2 swats to get my attention. With the Peterson kid pics, it was hard not to visualize him holding the kid down with one hand and going pure roid-rage switch-pummeling with the other.

Wow... corporal punishment of a one year old...

Something like this makes me believe parenting classes should be mandatory. Not that they'd prevent child abuse as there are just some horrible people in the world... but it could at least help in situations like this (I would like to think).

Definitely would...because the biggest problem here is they don't realize how wrong they are.

ESPN sucks: http://deadspin.com/brandon-marshalls-pissed-but-what-did-espn-do-wrong-e-1635626897?utm_campaign=socialflow_deadspin_facebook&utm_source=deadspin_facebook&utm_medium=socialflow

Also brings the lulz to see ESPN discuss Winston's draft stock possibly dropping. Classic ESPN; hype someone up for one year, and then tear them down the next year.

Yeah, to me a lot of the time, the paddling, whether with a flyswatter, switch or bare hand is more of an emotional thing than physical. When a kid gets a bare hand on the butt, it's not meant to light them up as much as it gives them the "oh no, I've been bad and made mommy or daddy mad...time to cry." You don't HURT them.

Anyone remember how Mark Cuban said the NFL would implode in 10 years? I feel like it's starting to happen already.

People would call those classes racist.
