I'm looking into a buying a Cadillac and I have never really heard anything bad about them other than being expensive to fix. I have a buddy saying they are junk lol. Anyone have an opinion on the subject?

This seems like a stupid ETB thread, where he could have just googled it.

My boss swears by them but he leases. Leases nothing but Cadillacs.

Ha sorta. I went to Google are typed in "are Cadillacs reliable cars" and the first answer is "yes, if they are running." Lol

Plus, I just like hearing from a wide array of people.

It is a dying brand. There doesn't seem to be much wrong with quality, but there isn't a price difference to make it attractive compared to Japanese luxury brands. When the baby boomers start dying out, Cadillac is going to have a problem. We don't know anyone under the age of 50 that drives one.

Aside from light trucks, you could probably say the same thing about GM in general. Its such a tarnished brand I'm not sure they'll ever recover.

3+ years valet experience in college. I've driven it all. GM cars suck, I won't be convinced otherwise.

The problem is they have average prices. Aside from their truck category they should be priced much lower. If it wasn't for the Chinese market GM would be in a lot of trouble.

Nothing wrong with that for sure. Plus plenty of garbage and false information on the internet.

I think BR is spot on about talking about leases. That might be a goos way to go...and if you like the car you can always buy it.

Don't buy a new GM if planning on keeping it more than 3+ years.

It's not a newer car. I wouldn't buy a brand new GM.

Had relatives that had a CTS and traded it in for a Lacrosse. They said they would take the Lacrosse any day of the week over the Caddy.

Dad has had 2 but he bought them when the were around 15 years old. They were pretty cool looking and a good ride, but not greatly reliable.

My family owned a car dealership and I can tell you my dad thought they made shitty cars. If your only looking for a car for the next 5 years then you will trade it in your Ok. If you want a car that will last longer then that good luck.

They don't hold their value at all. I can't tell you how many Cadillac's I've seen come in here and the owners are shocked at the "value" their car is..."but its a Cadillac" is usually the response. I don't like seeing Cadillacs or Kias rolling up to trade.

I have a Buick LaCrosse and will say it's been a fantastic car, but it only has 40K miles on it. I love it though, and think for the price differential I don't know how you could justify a CTS over a LaCrosse.

I love my Acura TSX. Seven years old and just turned 100K. Looking forward to another 100K.

Get ready to shell out $100+ just to change a new bulb in the headlights in a CTS
