I thought this only happened in West Virginia?

Will ND actually face any real heat over this though. Program has had a bunch of shit go down these last few years.

What heat would you like them to face for self-reporting academic problems and expelling the students involved? What more do you feel should happen here? Keep in mind that sources are saying that they will likely vacate the 2012 season and wins from the 2013 season as well.

A culmination of the last few years should be worth something. Just because you self report doesn't mean you are off the hook... Don't turn into lotz.

OSU technically self reported the tats issue as well...

That's my question...what would you like them to do? What further action do you think is warranted here? I'm genuinely interested in your opinion here.

Anything but a bowl ban. They barely make those anyway. Or turn them down because they aren't prestigious enough.

Take some schollies. Put some pressure on Kelly to run a better program.

For me...I think this is a pretty shitty situation. The kids are dumb as shit for doing this, but I don't know how you can hold any coaches responsible for it unless you can prove they knew about it. If they were able to fool professors for a few years, how can you expect the coach to know? I think that's the bigger issue. ND is supposed to be this great academic university. But how good are the professors if they aren't catching this while it's going on?

How dumb do you have to be to get caught cheating? Considering 95% of CFB players do it, that's pretty bad

The coach is responsible for everything that happens in the program.

I don't disagree with that. My point is, how would you expect a coach to know that players were cheating if they were even fooling their professors? That's the bigger issue. If it's true that 22 current and former players were cheating...how the fuck do the professors not know that? Unless they knew and they were covering it up too. Which again, becomes a bigger issue than just football.

I'm sure Kelly is like every other coach...he gets a report of the grades, looks to make sure nobody is failing, and then moves on. He's not watching these kids do their homework. No coach does that. And if the professors aren't catching it and alerting the coach about it, how would he know?

There is some serious comical shit in this story. Part of me hopes it comes out, because it has been some comic relief today from the different sources on the team, on campus, and within the program today

Teo has to be one of these former players. 1) he came from the worst state I'm america as far as academics. Even though he did go to punahou. 2) the moron got fooled for like 2 years by a fake person. He certainly wasn't passing classes at nd by himself.

They didn't hold him responsible for sending a kid up in a tower during a windstorm and letting him fall to his death. I doubt Kelly is sweating bullets over this.

I tend to agree that he'll be implicated.
