I'm lol'ing at this never ending thread. We know you feel an injustice was done here, but your obsessiveness leads me to believe you have an agenda...you either have a connection to the band, are a girl, or have been abused, hazed or harassed recently....am I warm?

Nope...not even close. I've stated before my Buckeye heritage, and I'm at the 'shoe 4-5 times a year. Tailgating, The Band, and of course, football are all part of the the gameday spectacle and experience of Ohio State football. So when you fuck with a part of that, I'm most certainly concerned. The Band has always been a pride of the University...it is a highly precise and regimented team that has always been considered one of the best in the country. More recently, Jon Waters has taken it to new heights with it's animated performances...performances that won national acclaim and had tens of millions of hits on You Tube. So when the new guy comes in and fires Waters I'm saddened to hear/learn about this terrible "sexualized" undercurrent.....as were most people who bought the cover story and the legitimate sounding "official investigation". The only problem was that it didn't add up...and as more and more has surfaced...most if it is gross exaggeration or a completly fabricated lie. So it actually is a pretty interesting story...one worthy of following especially if you are an OSU affecienado or alumni.
I'll continue to post updates as long as the story lives for those who might be interested. And for those that aren't...don't click on it if it bothers you.

Wow Columbus Dispatch reporting that the band has been denied licenses by music companies due to this whole debacle. Good lord this President needs to be fired immediately, how the hell do you ruin one of the most storied marching bands in the nation like this

^^^you are right... But that is in the hands of the BOT and Michael Drake. They can make the whole thing go away by reinstating Waters and state that upon further review, the investigation by C & I contained factual errors and that the office of the University President will closely monitor the situation to make sure the objectionable practices are eliminated.

Former Ohio Attorney General and Chancellor of the Board of Regents, Jim Petro, has signed onto Waters’ legal team.

Included in Waters filing is a charge of sexual descrimination against the University....citing an instance where the female cheeleading coach was allowed to keep her job after a more blatant and egregrious incident of sexual harrassment.

Also released was an illicitly recorded tape of Michael Drake that implies Waters was scapegoated for past university failings...

In the recording, one student asked Drake if he thought the OSU findings about the band accurately represented the students sitting before him.“Of course not,” Drake responded. “I believe that the report was overwhelmingly about people I’ve never met and that you’ve probably never met in times gone by. The overwhelming volume of this was historical information that was not relevant to you at all. Overwhelmingly."

Seems the new band director is just as good.

There is no "new" director...the university plans on hiring one in February and has formed a committee. There are interim directors, probably using most of Water's stuff, ...the plans for the year's halftime shows probably developed in advance. Waters was fired late in July.

Agreed. I actually think the shows this year are the best yet. And best of all none of the admins are overseeing coed underwear practices.

From attending games it's pretty clear everyone, save for a few Waters fan boys, approve of the new and more-respectable band.
