Rosenthal reported it and said he heard it after he left. Not on air.

Clown question after Wainwright gave up a HR and 3 runs on a national stage.....he shouldn't have given a sarcastic answer

Meh, that's what baseball gets for Selig deciding it was a good idea to make an exhibition game count for something important. I applaud this.

I wonder if Trout has noticed yet that his MVP trophy was pre-engraved with Derek Jeter's name on it.

The sucking of Jeter dick was very annoying.

When was the first big tribute in MLB all star game history? I remember Ted Williams in 1999 which was cool as he was like 110 yrs old and an icon. I imagine there were some smaller ones before but now I imagine this happens every so often in the ASG. Rivera last year, Jeter this year, etc.

Especially when you consider minor things like Fox apparently forgetting one of the all-time greats (Tony Gwynn) passed away roughly a month before the game and didn't even do anything as a tribute to him, apparently because that would get in the way of dedicating half the game to Jeter.

So much for thinking they'd be anything other than a second-rate ESPN with that shit.

I think they ignored Gwynn because of the "dipping" controversy MLB is facing. I have nothing to back myself up on that other than I don't see how you can completely forget an all-time great during a game that has been known to honor greats.

There was no excuse for not honoring Gwynn. Completely dropped the ball. Could've just taken 2 min....but no they have to honor teacher for 6 min????

I hope that if Cal Ripken Jr tragically passes away next mid June that Cincinnati won't ignore his passing and then honor nurses while Drew Lachey dances to a Nick Lachey song.

...and then they try to spin it with this bs...what a crock!!!

http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article/mlb/fox-mlb-release-joint-statement-on-tony-gwynn?ymd=20140717&content_id=85012070&vkey=news_mlb
"We are deeply saddened by the loss of Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn, an extraordinary individual whose memory we have honored in numerous ways in recent weeks," the statement read. "The Baseball family has sadly lost a number of people this year -- including Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner, Frank Cashen, and former All-Stars Jerry Coleman, Jim Fregosi and Don Zimmer -- and did not want to slight anyone by singling out one individual."

All those other guys were old too.....Tony Gwynn.

Mention them all an give a moment of silence....anything would make more sense than honoring teachers while singing an opera
