Too many ifs, DRose wasn't the same when he came back, not sure you can count on him being elite. Melo will score for them but doesn't fit the culture of that team, can Thibadeau make him into a capable defender? I would put them in line with the Pacers as far as how good they will be, with a higher ceiling based on those if factors. I don't know how long it will drag out but hopefully it gets all resolved soon, July 1st is the beginning of the free agency period correct?

Melos advance stats on defense arent that bad if you look at them, its mostly just opinion that he plays bad defense so everyone runs with it. And Thibadeau could make him into a competent team defender at worst. All they neeed was scoring too btw, so that fits perfectly for him, which is why most think its a perfect fit for him. and even not at his Elite/MVP caliber, Rose is an above average PG at worst. And much better than whatever Miami has to offer(unless they somehow pull off that Lowry deal, but if they do that i have a feeling they lose 1 of the big3)

A lineup of Rose, Butler, Melo, Gibson and Noah is better than James Wade Bosh, and most 2 other starters I can think of off the top of my mind. But who knows who they end up with. Only because Wade is gettin up there in age and I kinda doubt all 3 of them resign anyways

They will be good but Miami is championship level good, Bulls could only take them to 5 games with a healthy DRose, Melo will certainly make a positive impact. He's not a good defender though, although I think he could be so maybe they can break through to him if he goes there. Makes the East more interesting though if all of this does play out, because there are young teams that are only going to get better too. I won't judge these teams til we see what lineups they roll out could be completely different than what we think right now. I fully expect that if those guys sign back in Miami that Pat Riley will put the right pieces in place to win titles, like he did 4 years ago.

This was back when Dwade was full force you have to remember, hes not that same Dwade, hes a shell of himself and Butler (who puts the clamps on people) would probably contain him pretty easily. Noah wasnt near the player he is now either, and we saw how much trouble Miami had against big men who can pass, and hes the best passing big man in the league. I dont see how Miami is any better than that Chicago squad at all, besides James being obviously the best player on either team. Like I said I won't judge them until they form their roster but Wade isn't done, he had a bad series and fell apart after a long playoff run. He played well in the other series and shot 55% on the season averaging 20 ppg. He will probably have to get some work done but look for him to bounce back from that series, he's only 32. Butler is a good defender but doesn't do much for me offensively. Lebron will dominate them like he always does. You make a good point about Noah being a great passing big man but the Bulls play nothing like the Spurs do, and they only ran some of their offense through Noah this year because Rose was out. If Melo and Rose are on the floor together the only way Noah sees the ball is by rebounding it lol. DRose was not even near the same player when he came back this year, hard to tell what he will be like next year or if he will be able to hold up, more injury prone than almost anyone in the league. A lot of ifs so it's hard to really make an argument either way, but I don't see how DRose and Melo could have good chemistry when they both need the ball in their hands and neither is good off the ball. Riley will definitely pull something off though, Miami has like 55 million in cap space.

Still, it's pretty silly to have all these doubts about melo playing defense and D rose still being elite...but still maintain wade is a top 25 nba player. Just because The heat won the title 2 years ago doesn't make them the same championship level team they were then. They ran through a lousy east and got clown stomped by SA. And would have gotten stomped by a few other west teams as well. They aren't a great basketball team they just have a great player. Chicago is 10x as good as them with a healthy d rose and Melo.

Hes one of if not the best catch and shoot midrange players in the NBA, I dont know where they puylled the stats from but they had it up on the screen when this was mentioned. He only had the ball and offense ran through him in NYK because he pretty much had to lol.

I just want the season to start lol, seems forever away, and this time of the year in sports relaly really sucks. All speculation and waiting for the respective seasons to start

No I agree with that, but he is still very good, just had a bad series and his body fell apart on him. He had a great season and first three rounds in the playoffs. Noah doesn't need the ball you're right, but how is he going to be the passing big man that hurts Miami if he never has the ball on offense you know? Melo can catch and shoot but his entire career he has been ball dominant and an iso player, so do they(if he goes there) run the offense through him, or through the question mark Rose? One or both of those guys will have to sacrifice tremendously like Wade and Lebron did, it's up to them and the coaching staff to figure that out. And yes this time of year sucks for sports lol, it will be here before we know it though!

I think a guy like Trevor Ariza makes sense for Miami, need someone to fill that Shane Battier role of a guy who can defend and knock down threes, they add him and Lowry and another quality big and I think they are fine. Beasley and Oden should be brought back, no idea if Ray Allen is gonna retire.

Pau Gasol has also been rumored to the Knicks and Miami.

Memphis can't score enough and simply aren't good enough, OKC is too undisciplined, poor shot selection and not good enough defensively. But that's just my opinion. I've always said over the last few years that SA is the only team that can beat them in a seven game series, they play differently than any other team in the league and are able to exploit their weaknesses.
