Masterson can' t find the strike zone... He's gone before the end of the 3rd inning ... 5-3 RedSox after 4.

Chis is 0-4 tonight after being scorching hot.

Tito kind of shit the bed giving him a forced day off in the middle of the best stretch of his career. Baseball players are creatures of habit and often times superstitious, and Tito stepped in where he shouldn't have.

It's just 1 night, but it just wasn't necessary and I hope he is able to get that hot bat going again.

This team as a whole is the most Jeckyl/Hyde bunch I think I have ever seen.

They went from being 6 under .500 and lifeless, to winning 9 of 10, and now are on a 4 game skid and haven't looked good doing it.

The division is there for the taking with Detroit looking like MLB's biggest dumpster fire.

With the boom/bust nature of this team I don't want any part of another play in game where 1 game decides everything. I want 5 tries at it where we can weather one of those bad nights.

Masterson is toast, and the Tribe is in a free fall right now. I can see this losing streak going at least 10 games.

Detroit is in free fall.

We are just having a tough stretch.

problem is we have had multiple "tough stretches". and its not because we are playing good teams. 4 straight losses to .500 teams.

This team is baffling. When they are hot, it is like they cannot lose. When they are not, it is like they can't win. And they go from one to the other seemingly without rhyme nor reason. The last two seasons I have never seen a team prone to such prolonged streaks in both directions.

Well, after today Swisher should be under the Mendoza Line....con_alma, I'm about to convert to your way of thinking--he's killing us.

Tribe's slide is over with a 3-2 win. The game winner was scored when Santana walked with the bases loaded. Allen with the save. Kipnis had 3 hits today...Chiz was hitless but walked twice. Swisher 'raised' his average to .207 with a hit today.

Much needed W, but Swish looked like crap--he looks like a beaten man.

Seems like absolute zero patience at the plate. when they were hot, it seemed like they were working the count etc. now its everyone swinging at the first pitch.

Brantley just surpassed his career high in homers with his 11th right there.

His average is also up to .322, 40 points higher than his career high.

Swisher comes through in the top of the 11th. 3-2 Indians.

Need Allen to close it out to gain a split with Bahhstun.

Hopefully this will spark Swisher moving forward. If we're gonna play him anyway.

I would do whatever it takes to dump Swisher.... maybe after today there might be a sucker to give us something for him.

I didn't like his play last year and he was having more of an impact then. I was also a bad guy for talking negatively about him. :(

I'm not a swisher fan. He's average at best as is the highest paid guy on the team I think he'll be fine over time and would be shocked if he was moved somewhere else.

Good guy, average player.

Tito is like the guy who goes up and tells a pitcher he has a no hitter going through 8 innings.

Chis is 0-10 since he was benched in the middle of one of the great hot streaks we have seen of late.

Thank God the pitching has been so good the past 2 days, because the offense is back in the toilet.

Pre game with Tito yesterday he was talking about his notebook that he consults so he can avoid making mistakes late in a game.

How about this for the notebook: never sit a player who is on a hot streak.

You were not the only one who was against the Swisher signing. Bad move, based on his career numbers. He's also a hack in the field. I loved the Bourn signing and he didn't meet expectations last year either. I give management a C + with those signings replacing Sizemore and Hafner.

I do think Tito is the best manager we've had since the human rain delay...but even I would have won with those guys.

Swisher might be able to help us if he is down in the order with less pressure (NYY Style), problem is, he we have so many other guys sucking that he can't be moved down too
much.

This is based on the notion that he, like Santana, is going to play...

Great split though, no matter how you look at it. Getting 2 in Boston and going 5-2 in the season series is fantastic, don't care what their record is. Survive the Angels coming up and then you set up what might end up being a battle for 1st next weekend versus the Tigers.

Also, I guess I will start the Angles thread. Lost the Royals one, but no one started one for Boston and we split. So, I guess I'm up with a series thread that didn't end in a loss lol
