Coincidentally the same thing often happens after sex. Maybe there's a direct correlation between having sex and you rolling around with another dude in spandex.

Were you kicked in the head as a child? Football is probably more complex and challenging for larger players because of their potential to play at a higher level of intensity and skill.

The guys who make these tired jokes about wrestling are generally the ones who couldn't make it through 10 minutes of an average wrestling practice.

I should ask: Which of your online profiles is the one in this thread? Good cop? Bad cop? As the thread goes on, should we expect your two profiles to begin a back and forth debate with each other?

Nobody is saying long distance running is easy. However contact sports absolutely beat up your body in a whole other way

You're using a well above average pace to prove your point? Excuse me while I lmao.

Train as hard as a state champion wrestler and tell me how you feel afterward. //cc logic

To be fair, an "above average pace" for a person in shape is probably just as physically challenging as a "below average pace" for a fatty.

Not going to defend XC or Football or anything else for that matter because I'm not an idiot and know they're all challenging in their own regard.

Only a ratard would say that XYZ is more challenging than ZYX

Wrestle a SINGLE 6 minute wrestling match with a top notch wrestler, and see how you feel afterward.

I have run half marathons, it was easier physically AND mentally than wrestling.

Mentally long distance running is more challenging than most sports, but there is still quite a few others out there that you can get "lost" in and no one would notice. In a wrestling match it is 1 on 1, everyone is watching you and you only if you win or lose.

I have run 5k when I am out of shape and was dripping sweat and tired.
I have wrestled a single match when I am out of shape and I literally can't lift myself off the mat afterwards. My muscles wouldn't move.
Wrestling uses every single muscle in your body close to all the time. The only other sport that does this is swimming.

The ONLY people who want to compare how hard a sport is to wrestling are those that NEVER wrestled. Every single wrestler will tell you that wrestling was by far the hardest sport they did.

Shoot, many smaller weight wrestlers do XC in the fall instead of football to stay in shape in the off season. Talk to any of them about the physical and mental difficulty of the two sports and they will laugh at anyone that says XC is as hard or harder.

FYI, I hated wrestling, I only did it for 2 years, and yet I KNOW it was far harder than any other HS sport. I am not advocating for a sport I loved. My favorite sport was baseball, and I am not here trying to tout how hard physically or mentally it is (it is neither of those, it is the hardest sport to play hand/eye coordination wise, but that's about it).

Sorry, but like I said above, I hated wrestling in HS, and I will definitely say that it is the most challenging sport to play in HS, by far.

Sorry, but like I said above, only a ratard would make a statement like that.

Hope this helps.

How would you know what its like to train like a state champion? You were only runner up.

The mental part of sports is way harder.
You def have to dig deep mentally when you run. Still not as mentally challenging as wrestling.

Mentally challenging? Maybe for some of you. I'm sure it's taxing to fight the urge to tear off the spandex of the sweaty man and have your way with him right there.

No shit. In comparing the sports, a 16-min 5K runner is about the equal of what, a wrestling state placer? Qualifier at worst, I'd say. And if you're at that level in any sports, unless you're a physical freak, you're working a lot harder than the average athlete to get where you are.

I'm sure you will come up with some new ones. /sarcasm

While you think about about your homophobic gems, be sure to consider the fact cross country runners wear 2 inch shorts whole exposing their skeleton like physiques in the hopes of ever getting laid (by man or woman). Not to mention YOUR coach, who on numerous occasions has posted dick or anus pics.

While we are somewhat on the subject of mental toughness, consider what each sport does to that person's life. There is a reason why Forbes listed wrestlers as the hardest working employees in this country. Wrestlers aren't mentally weak pussies. They know when there is adversity in their lives they have to push through it. The best examples of CC runners we have on this site are:

-You, a basement dweller who bitched for 1.5 years on this site about not being able to find a job.

-ccrunner, who has reached his lifetime peak as a gym coach that couldn't afford AC until this year.

And last but not least...

-Said, who we all know has settled as a worthless POS.

I was a decent football and basketball player. I was pretty good at baseball until I gave it up. I've always thought that lacrosse sounded fun and that I had the skill set to be pretty good at it.

Life experience has told me that I'd be a shitty wrestler. Although I respect the people that did it, it sounded dumb and not very enjoyable for me. I'd also probably suck at golf because I lack the patience it would require. Soccer and XC would've been pitiful since I'm a pretty good sized guy and don't have any endurance or agility.

I agree on both parts. I do believe XC is more mentally challenging than most sports, but not more than wrestling.

Wrestled for 5 years, baseball for 9 years, soccer for 11 years and football for 3 years.

Wrestling was easily the most demanding.

I would have been terrible at golf (as proven by my game today), terrible at basketball (same evidence) and fucking hate running too much to only run for the sake of running.

And when I was in high school, the best wrestler was a varsity runner. I don't think his older brother (the best wrestler at the time) ever was. So the examples go both ways. This is such a stupid argument and can't believe you guys got sucked into it again.
