I would have been good at volleyball, real good but obviously only a handful of schools in the state have boys volleyball.

I would have absolutely sucked at cross country. Running long distances sucks.

I could run 40 yard sprints for hours, do it longer than any track or cross country runner in HS.

However, turn it into running laps around a football field or out in a park and I want to go crazy.
Then you should've ran XC. Sprint 40 walk a few seconds and sprint 40....repeat until done

I was too busy playing football.

I currently run 7 minute miles with this method. Sprint for about 30 seconds, walk for 30 seconds, turns into about 7 minute miles.

Only fat kids or those without a neck/zero lung capacity do this while competing in cross country. Only time you've seen a state placer walk during the XC race is while they were close to collapsing at the finish line.

Are you doing this type of run for workout reasons? Where do you run? imo- If you run on a track and want a quality similar workout: do 300's.

Yes, workout reasons. Sprinting and walking are much more efficient fat burns than jogging, even if both done at the same overall pace.

I don't have the patience to be good at golf. I grip and rip. Dont think I would be good at hockey either.

7 minute miles by sprinting for 30, and walking for 30 seconds? Are you talking about when you run it you get to a 7 minute mile or the running and walking mix is a 7 minute mile?

Golf requires goofy pants and a fat ass. You should talk to my neighbor, the accountant. Probably a great golfer... huge ass.

With sprinting and walking mix I run a mile in 7 min. I can and have actually done 8 miles in under an hour this way.
