I think most people don't care if your gay or not. What bothers some people and myself included is If the media doesn't treat gays in a special way like they are doing ,It wouldn't be a major conversation piece. Every show on ESPN is talking about this story. Even more so than the Donald Sterling issues.

Also is it some kind of law to object to seeing a man kiss a man on TV without being punished or at least admonished ? Doesn't freedom mean freedom for all ,not just freedom for people who think the same? The morality police are everywhere. The problem is some peoples moralities don't jibe with others. If your on the wrong side of this PC issue ,you can be punished by your job,or admonished by the general public.
Our government and media calls open objections to what has been seen all over the media as intolerance. Who is really intolerant of freedoms of speech?

Another way to look at it is if people didn't get so up in arms about their overkill coverage of it, they wouldn't do overkill coverage of it.

This. The media is in the business of selling advertisements. They can charge more if they have more viewers. This topic has obviously moved the needle or they wouldn't stay with it.

Surprise, another person who doesn't really grasp what "Freedom of Speech" means. You're allowed to say whatever you want, with some limited restrictions, without the government forcing you to stop or putting you in prison.

Freedom of Speech doesn't mean you can say whatever you want and not get fired, it doesn't mean you say whatever you want and nobody is allowed to call you an asshole, it doesn't mean companies can't drop endorsements.

The cake made me think it was kind of staged. I don't think I've ever seen a draftee feed their significant other cake, and the whole smash-it-in-their face thing is usually only seen at a wedding/anniversary. IMO that was a pretty unambiguous political statement/stunt.

I said intolerant. I think people should be tolerant of differing views. Also a Miami Dolphin has been sanctioned for making comments on twitter. Freedom of speech with ramifications such as job suspensions are not really freedoms of speech.

So everyone should pretend WBC or the KKK or the Nazi party have completely rational and understandable opinions? Why can't people say it's shitty for someone to think less of or treat someone worse because of their race, religion, sexuality, or whatever? People should be treated equally, not opinions.

Most gay people don't care about this whole "gay" movement that is going on and just want to live their normal lives. It's the 1% who are out and pushing the agenda which the media loves.

I think what we need is a straight lobby. We will simply go around talking about how great it is to be straight and if any gay man tries to tell us otherwise we will go to the media and complain that they gay man disagrees with our views and therefore hates us. We will actively attach ourselves to every issue, including marathons and non-sexual conventions and if anyone stops us they are heterophobes and demand an apology and financial benefits.

Do you really believe gays are being treated unfairly? Even most states have 'civil unions' which allows you to legally becoming one which is essentially marriage.
