That reminds me of the Chips episode where the guy was riding around on the motorcycle, pulling people over and pretending to be CHP. Now of course we the viewer could tell the guy wasn't legit CHP because, while he had the blue patch on his identically colored uniform, it didn't have the official CHP logo. That was lost on the motorists he pulled over. Anyway, this guy didn't seem to have a regular paying job and money seemed no object since he could pursue his dream all day with a top notch bike. His fatal error - thinking he'd get this by Ponch and Jon. There is no way in hell they were going to let that pass for too long. While they understood the guy wanting to imitate his heroes - I mean who doesn't have similar dreams - the fact the he was not highly trained on procedure and law made him a menace tot he freeways. They had no choice but to take him in.Midstate01;1657107 wrote:I agree. If someone does it and just tells someone they are one, that seems like no biggie. But using that to get themselves appearances, medals in their hometowns, etc.. That is taking it too far.
I saw a guy get outed this July at red white and boom. He was in marine blues and was drinking. A guy, who clearly was in the military, approached him to get on him for drinking in uniform in public. After a short argument the guy started asking the guy in uniform questions and he basically couldn't answer any of them correctly. His buddy outed him about 10 minutes later. It was extremely awkward.
So I guess this Seal guy is kind of like Ponch.
