Not a big fan of classic or old school rock, really, and rap is just not good music live (in most cases). So that's why Michael gets my vote over Tupac. If I wanted to see any rapper live, however, it would've been The Notorious B.I.G. Tupac wasn't even the best rapper of his era, let alone of all-time. Biggie would've been awesome to see in a nightclub in Vegas.

Because Beethoven and Pavarotti are like Michelangelo and Da Vinci...and everyone else on this list, as incredible as many are, are street graffiti artists in comparison. The former is one of the all-time great artists, the latter an all-time great voice....I mean the best in GENERATIONS.Mohican00;1605500 wrote:why?
Oddly enough, the ones on this list that even have business in the same conversation in terms of influence and popularity, I don't even feel have the best music out of this bunch.

Agreed. For example, Beethoven compared to the rest of this list is like comparing the Space Shuttle to a Cessna 172. Both machines can fly but the former takes it to a whole new level.gut;1605620 wrote:Because Beethoven and Pavarotti are like Michelangelo and Da Vinci...and everyone else on this list, as incredible as many are, are street graffiti artists in comparison. Not the biggest John Lennon fan, but I think 200 years from now now Lennon and Cash will be just as revered as we look back at Beethoven. At any rate, we'll all be dead!

You got a dog and left it outside in the cold and then eventually it got loose and died.
The end.

I look at Master and And Justice to kind of be co-peaks. And then they went off the rails to create this weird thing called pop-thrash. And then Hetfield decided he'd rather croon like a doped up country singer. And then their quality dove to the level of Anal C*nt, with the minor difference that they actually were trying to court popularity, as opposed to just slamming out monotonous one-minute half-assed grindcore songs, one after the next.Mohican00;1605507 wrote:you mean after it peaked with And justice for all

Michelangelo, Beethoven, and Da Vinci all had something in common - they created works of art. Pavarotti performed which, to me, isn't nearly as distinguished as the other artists mentioned, but I don't want to take away from his fantastic accomplishments as a tenor. As for the all time great voice...he's up there but calling him 'best in ALL CAPS generations' could be argued IMOgut;1605620 wrote:Because Beethoven and Pavarotti are like Michelangelo and Da Vinci...and everyone else on this list, as incredible as many are, are street graffiti artists in comparison. Oddly enough, the ones on this list that even have business in the same conversation in terms of influence and popularity, I don't even feel have the best music out of this bunch.
