Has anyone on here ever done it? Is it worth it?

For me, I don't like what i see when I look for a few things that interest me. I think they are D, maybe C level on a good day. I'd want to make one that ranks as an A+!

Can this be done with limited know how and less funds?

There are app groups around Columbus. You can join and they meet about once a month. Basically everyone works together to build apps and then whatever sells is split among everyone in the group. Maybe look into joing a group like this.

What are you interested in building an app for?

Stuff.

Kidding. I have a couple things but mainly wrestling; high school wrestling, stats and bout sheet related. I looked for some under "wrestling stats" and thought to myself, "WTH"? Maybe it's the limitations set forth by the app itself, but in my mind, I see things being built differently. (And by differently, I mean WAY better!)

For some reason, as I looked at the limited selection, I just can't believe that what is offered is the best that can be done.

A+ app with limited know how...

Hmm.

Common sense tells me 'no'.

To make a feature rich app like the one you're describing, I would think you'd need extensive knowledge in coding.

(Thanks.)

ps: I've built a few websites in my time. Not overly hard with the templates provided. While cool graphics are neat, I don't think that is needed for what I want. The goal would be able to create an easy-to-use app that meets the demands of what I - and hopefully other coaches - want. Basic is not bad, as long as it's functional.

If you have done web work in the past, look at learning to code an app in HTML5 and a JavaScript MVW framework. You can then use Adobe Build to compile it for iOS or Android. It is easy to do and cheap to start learning. If you you want to build an app that is graphic intense or lots of compiuting, you would be best to learn native coding. For most basic apps, Adobe Build works just fine.
