This thread is about a high school stabbing, not protecting politicians. If you'd like to discuss protecting politicians, make a thread about that.

Good luck.
Says the guy who ignored the request for clarification on his half-ass, unreasonable plan.

He didn't say anything about politicians. He was talking about politians, which I can only assume is a crossbreed of pelicans and politicians.

When you prove to be intelligent enough to deserve more than simple insults, you'll get more. Until then, continue being the butthurt, blindly partisan, clueless dolt you've been for however many years you've been inflicted on this world like an annoying boil on its posterior.

Let's say we do let teachers have weapons.
It goes without saying they will have to be very, very well trained.

I. You will need to have a good number of them armed. Schools are big, have many different wings in them so you will need alot of them to be armed.
2. I imagine the weapons will need to be locked in a safe. No way they will be allowed to be carried as a student could overpower them for the weapon. A chance a student gets the key, or finds the combination or whatever, when the teacher leaves their keys in the desk or whatever. It could very easily happen.
3. A teacher gets the weapon and starts to engage an active shooter. Shooting isnt as easy as it looks in the movies. The teacher is going to be scared and nervous as hell, and just as good a chance he/she kills innocent kids as well.

There isnt an easy answer to it. I am all for people being able to carry weapons, CCw and the like. I just dont think it would really stop, slow down, or deter the shootings. We are talking about thousands and thousands of buildings with millions of kids. There is no way they will get enough able bodies teachers to be able to make it effective.

I still believe that if schools would go to this, that a weapon in a classroom would be used in some sort of attack before it would stop an attack.

OK, Devils Advocate……..I repped that comment about me. Pretty funny.

I am surprised that this kind of attack hasn't happened before. Somebody armed with knives and running full speed (old Indian tactic running out of the forest and past the soldiers marching in formation) can do a lot of damage and be gone before anyone has time to react.

Kudos to the assistant principal.

Maybe the teachers need knives? Just a thought. Guns and pitbulls kill people, knives just make sammiches and wound. (occasional fatality)

So it'd be you and maybe a few other capable guys. Hopefully one of you would be in the right place at the right time? Hell in our old high school I don't think there was one male teacher on the third floor. Dlazz will have to confirm this.
