I know they will manufacture runs and all, but I still look at that line-up and wish we had some true power somewhere in there.
Why can't we seem to develop a power bat in the minors at either of the corner outfield positions or 1b/3b?
We are a team that supposedly builds through the draft, and I can't remember the last home grown guy we've had that is a threat to hit 35+ homers in a year. What is wrong with our scouting department that we only seem interested in dink n' duck guys?

Something about them having to carry the Braves station jacking the price up quadruple. Also heard Fox owns directv so theirs no real hurry on STO end

well, they are not 'dink and duck' guys. They have shown a propensity to like line drive gap hitters who can hit to all fields rather than pull it power guys. This goes back to Jhonny and Brandon Phillips and Derek Shelton as hitting coach. There was nothing wrong with Phillips' hitting...they were just trying to ram a square peg into a round hole. Maybe they figure that power hitters are too expensive to keep. IDK. One thing is for sure, they are not going to spend for one.
I was kind of excited last year when they picked up Bourn and Stubbs. I thought we'd have an offense that was going to shoot the ball all over the place and run like crazy. Instead they just kind of sat on Stubbs and waited for the big hit anyway....????... I like Tito, but sometimes I feel like he manages thinking he has big hitters in his lineup.

Didn't get anything out of it.
The A's will be in their bullpen early though as it took Sonny Gray 28 pitches to get out of the inning.

I am glad they picked him up. He used to be quite the character and was extremely entertaining. Bat shit crazy...but hilarious.

Good to see Druby get the monkey off his back early...blistered a shot up the middle that Sogard knocked down but couldn't make the play.
