Yesterday was the beginning of my yard work season. I took off work around 12:00 and started cleaning up the yard.
I raked out the flower beds, trimming bushes, cleaned off the patio and brought out some patio furniture. Planning on doing more today so I can order estimated 20 yards of mulch for the weekend. I enjoy doing yard work so I'm looking forward to the physical labor and the beatification of my property. </SPAN>

Anyone else planning a weekend of yard work or have you already started? </SPAN>

The yard is nothing more than a huge mud pit, it will be July before I can do anything.......that is as long as it doesn't rain between now and July.

You want to wait until the soil temperature is 60°. That is typically mid to late April. You want to get down a crabgrass preventer and fertilizer with high nitrogen.

Actually you can put fertilizer down anytime. Grass is already starting to green up a little. Crabgrass doesn't germinate until the soil is 50°, so get your Scotts with Halts or Lesco Dimension (what I use), down before that.

Here are current soil temps. It's still in the 30s, so we have some time before that starts.
