What is the best tv series premiere you have seen?

I would say The Walking Dead would be mine. That first episode was perfect.

Tough to recall. Walking Dead was really well done, and got me excited for something different.

The Shield was pretty darn good - cops kill a cop in the first episode is way up there for shock value.

Probably also throw in Game of Thrones - hadn't heard much about it, but after watching the first episode out of boredom one day I had to binge-watch the rest of Season 1 over the next few days.

A lot of other shows maybe didn't grab you for how the first show was done, as opposed to a compelling theme that drew you to invest some time in the first place.

I haven't watched many shows, but I thought the first Lost episode was fantastic.

The Office (US), even if it was derived from the UK version. Steve Carell was amazing in it.

No doubt. That was a great, great series. I remember watching that night......ya think it is just gonna be another cop/crime show and then BAM, that happens. Set the tone for the whole series. Good to see some of those guys getting other parts...also saw Lem on Bates Motel the other night.

I dont recall...but pretty good chance The SHield had some sort of risque sex scene as well.

The shield really started the trend for all these great original programs on cable. They showed it could be done instead of just reruns, movies and specialty shows.

Twin Peaks. Awesome intro that did a great job establishing the quirky nature of the town and the dead body of Laura Palmer.

I know I've forgotten most of them, but since this one still burns in my memory, I've got to say Lost...it was crazy good.

Mad Men, Sons of Anarchy, Breaking Bad and Friday Night Lights are the ones I remember most. Something about them stuck with me.

Honestly I had to struggle through the first few episodes of Breaking Bad. I didn't find it that interesting. Really didn't hook me until about halfway through the first season.

I didn't think it was great either. It was good, not great.

An overweight Bryan Cranston in his tightie-whities isn't exactly the most compelling television.

Yeah, am with ya on SOA.
I remember after that first season thinking how far fetched it was until I saw a weeklong special gangland about MC's . NEver knew they could be that nasty.

and btw...when is SOA coming back? Fall I imagine?

My vote goes to Lost, followed closely by Dexter.

I have watched maybe the first three episodes of breaking bad and never got hooked. I have every episode on DVR from the marathon, but haven't gotten around to getting started again. It certainly didn't hook me in those first couple.

Similar with Mad Men, I watched the first episode but never kept going. I'm sure they are great shows though.

In the end I hated Lost, I quit watching after season 2.

However, I ONLY watched the first 2 seasons because the first episode got me hooked. I would agree with Lost as one of the best premiers.

The Big Bang Theory's whole first season might be the funniest season ever on TV.

Heroes premier was darn good too, even if the 3rd season sucked.

I thought Lost got better until the last half of the final episode which was very ambiguous, too the extent that I felt perplexed as to what occurred the last 6 years.

I also lost Lost (no pun intended) - I've heard about the last episode, but haven't watched it.
