Today my son who is 7 had an eye exam. We knew he may need glasses. Unfortunately after the exam the Dr. thinks he may have retinitis pigmentosa. A degenerative eye disease that over time leads to significant vision loss.

We go to childrens hospital next week to run tests to see exactly what is going on.

I have never felt this bad. I have had cancer and would rather have it come back then for my son to experience anything this possibly serious.

Just needed to vent and see if anyone here has ever heard or dealt with this.

There's way worse things he could have. Be grateful it's not something more serious.
