I don't see anything wrong with trolling. In today's PC culture that vilifies free speech and opinion, the only reasonable alternative is to discuss reality through an anonymous venue; aka the internet.

Maybe if people would actually grow up and learn to handle reality, then we would have approximately zero trolls and a better quality of life for everyone.

So what the study shows is that people are more weary of a new and confusing technology when other people are vehemently opposed or for the technology in question.

Heaven forbid people are skeptical when there isn't a clear answer.

This. It's like F4F ran this study. I'm of the belief that solid trolling is needed to keep a forum interesting. Need a unifying enemy to pwn to keep things interesting. The real problem is bad trolls, and butthurt-ness when ppl disagree with them.

I think trolling on message boards is tame compared to trolling on news sites and youtube.

I frequently hit Dispatch and DDN and some of the comments just leave you shaking your head.
