In short: picked up my mail after a couple weeks of not going to the mailbox (I don't do much of anything by mail, so most of what I get unless I'm ordering online is just junk). Saw a couple issues of People and a couple invoices for a six-month subscription.

Thing is...I never requested that or any magazine and haven't had a subscription for any of them in a good 10 years other than a 1-year gift subscription to Buckeye Sports Bulletin a friend got me a few years back that expired after the year was up. So, does anyone have any clues why a person would suddenly start getting a magazine and invoices for payment for no reason whatsoever?

Somebody pranked you--they signed you up and checked the "invoice me" box. This happened to me by a "friend" back in high school.

This has happened to me before.

It's basically a trial. They're trying to get you to sign up so they send you a single issue as well as an invoice for more.

Just do nothing. You probably won't get anymore.

You're the expert at that. Perhaps you can start a thread detailing how to achieve your level of expertise in the field?

^ Is there a phone number or email on the invoice? If not I'd throw just throw it away.

Your first statement tells me that I'm an expert at doing nothing, and then the second suggests I do something.

So which is it?

I guess you're expertise will win over my request. If only there was a drive through full of greasy threads that you could order from to help spark conversation on the oc.

I was guessing they send you one of their better issues (lol), an invoice and hope you'd take the bait.

Thanks for the replies, people. I'll just ignore them until they stop sending me stuff. Or call a number if they keep sending invoices.

I'd agree if the issue was that I just got a bunch of metal albums or video games in the mail that I didn't remember ordering. Or even a "Wait, did I really order that pizza....?" moment.

But a stupid-ass magazine; no thanks, stoned me has more taste than that!

This reminds me of the days when there were the "music club" offers. You could get like 10 CD's for free and then commit to buying 15-20 over the next year at regular price. I used to live in a rental house with a bunch of guys. Seemed like everyday in the mail would be a box of CD's addressed to someone like Reubon Goiter and then a letter addresses to Icadore Feldknocker opening with something like, "Mr. Feldknocker, we are very disappointed you have not respond to our multiple billings..."
