Farm as much as you can, when you can. This gets you the additional gold/elixir you may need. Basically, put your TH as far away from your base as possible to allow people to destroy it and put your storages in the middle protected by all defense. When you farm, use low costing troops to attack high-earning bases -- i.e., barbarians and archers (barching) costs very little and gets you high reward if you can find bases with thousands of gold/elixir. I wasted a lot of money early on using wallbreakers and spells trying to attack bases for gold/elixir return. Didn't pay off AT ALL.
Yeah, so far everything has been like every other real time tower defense game. Build your resource generators early, storage in the center, defenses all around it, things that don't matter outside the wall.
I am more interested at this point in some early battle strategies (you mentioned the barching, which I have mostly done so far as I only have those 2 and giants available).
It became obvious early to spread the troops around since mortars will destroy bunches real quick, are giants to take the damage and archers to do ranged damage a better plan than barching against multiple mortars?
