Ok we're building our first house. Our Final walk through is next week. Is there anything that most people miss or forget to check. Anything you missed on yours or would do differently this time.

Check for homeless people living in it. Once you sign the papers, the homeless people are yours and you have to keep them. It's in the constitution.

I once found a $20 bill in my basement and used it as a buy-in to a poker tournament.

This. It is money well spent.

An inspecter has no relationship with the builder and looks for common defects that you might not be aware of like drywall dust in the ducts ( very common in winter completed homes. )

Also I am sure you have no yard. Make sure there is adequate escrow to cover This.

http://www.patchhomeinspections.com/ Rick Harrington. He is a great inspector. Offers new build inspections as well.
