Why is the OC not castrating this ex-cop turned movie shooter? This retired asshole shot a 30yr old Dad who was texting. Now I'm no fan of young people in general much less a movie texter but I would have just cold cocked him - not shot him.

But maybe it will make some other young punks think twice about texting in the theatre. If so, it was worth it.

He was a 42 year old Dad BTW.

I am interested to see if this case will hold up as a "stand your ground" . Reports are that the wife was shot in the back of the hand in effort to push her husband back away from the shooter which would indicate a threat to the shooter. The movie theater has a no guns on the property policy so the stand your ground would be non existent in that circumstance.

Stand your ground is such a stupid fucking law. No excuse for shooting a guy over texting and popcorn.

This ex-cop was an irrational ticking time bomb. The victim was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. If the cop didn't shoot the guy in the theater, he would have shot the guy on the way home in front of him who didn't use his turn signal.

Sure glad this fine upstanding citizen was carrying a gun. That texter could've been detonating a suicide bomb. As a matter of fact, all people with Cell Phones should be shot, because ya never know.

Here is a decent timeline of what had happened: http://abcnews.go.com/US/accused-movie-theater-shooter-fear-attacked/story?id=21523732

Texting during movies led to the shooter going out in the lobby to tell some workers. He returned back to his seat. The texter then turned to the shooter and said some things while also possibly throwing something. Shooter felt threatened and pulled his gun. The wife was trying to protect her texting husband and got shot.

The shooter's .380 gun jammed after the first and only shot.

Shooter got his feelz hurt and got some popcorn thrown at him. Like I said. He was an irrational, ticking time bomb.

Popcorn is soooooo much more dangerous than Skittles, with all those sharp kernels. I read somwhere that it was the 10 dollar tub.

No guns and turn off cell phone .... two good people in the wrong .... Blame is all that is addressed

The legal gun carrier has rules and class he must attend before a permit is granted. Do we need class and lesson for cell users now... Let be honest we all have complained of cell phone abuse in public.

This doesn't justify a shooting but there is a argument of what happen after two wrongs don't make it right

Texting justifies a shooting? Isn't it time to go to dinner, old man?

And he is retired police, he didn't need to take a class.

I'm betting Belly forgot the "not" part. He blames Obama for proof reading.

Well, the "not", if he meant to use it, was pretty important to the statement he was making. I chalk it up to him being a dolt.
