I was thinking about what I need to do this summer around the house. For you home owners it seen to never end, just keeps expanding but that's Ok because we own it, we earned it and we prospered.

This year </SPAN>
Will be a mulching year so that 18 + yards of work
Putting a fence around the garden to keep out the deer and groundhogs
Rebuild the back porch stone steps the riser are to high have to build it to be a three riser steps (started this project last year)
Little painting of the wood trim
I want to sand blast the garage doors and bring them back to the natural wood, stain then and seal with clear boat/weather vanish.
Have a hugh tree I have to cut up a split
Have to put the garden in and work on that all year around

I'm sure something will pop up that need to be take care of, thats to be expected ...</SPAN>

That the plan for now, will all this happen maybe but writing it down is a start</SPAN>

I could have someone do some of this but I enjoy the out doors and not frighten of work keep me in shape, strong and I have the time on the weekends.</SPAN>

Thank goodness you have a wife to help you when something pops up.

Replacing the asphalt driveway - not sure if new blacktop or using concrete. The existing driveway won't survive another winter.

Big project is inside - removing the 4th bedroom - splitting the space up between my home office (they're closing our physical office and sending us home to work full time this fall) and an expansion of the master bedroom bath with a 2-person shower and a jetted 2-person tub.

Amazing how much the budget eases up when the kids finish college!!!!

We are moving into our new home the first week in Feb. We will have a lot to do this summer.

Lay down sod to finish the backyard.
we back up to the woods so I'm going to clear about another 4-5 feet of brush out and mulch between the trees
fence in the backyard

inside
finish the basement
Paint the walls in a couple rooms
install a few ceiling fans
install a garage door opener (might pay someone to do this)

We just moved into a house that sat empty for two years, so there is a lot to be done. There is a bush out front that is as tall as the second story window, and the backyard is pretty overgrown. Once we take care of that, we want to build a deck and put in a patio.

Pay someone to do the garage door .... is a good idea... trust me on this one

also what's the best kind to buy belt or screw drive and what brand would you recommend? I've never bought one and every review I read is different. Would you go thru a garage door company or just Home Depot.

The wife and I first home was a condemned Victoria Farm house in Perrysburg. We saved it from being destroyed by a contractor. The contractor and I made a deal, the bank approved the financing &#8230; I worked 12 hours a day during the summer just to be able to move in before winter.
Purchase the home in 1977 with contract, sold the home and moved too Canton in 1982 for profit of $40,000. It was a great start for our future.

I rent because I'm "poor". At least that's what Belly believes.

(Full disclosure: My stepdad works for them.) But seriously, my parent's garage doors and openers are pretty legit. Very quiet and have given them zero problems.

We just replace both of ours this past summer We when to Sears 1/2hp screw drive with chain belt Craftsmens plus other options
They where on sale and if you open an account additional 10% off and 1/2 off on installation... and we had 16 months no interest .. we payed it off in 3 months Total for both doors and install was less that $400.00 I think

If you are a veteran or know of some who is Lowes gives additional 10% off on everything with proof of Military Service

Not sure what I will do this summer. Been wanting to put on a new deck. Tear the old, small one down and make it 3-4 times bigger. Maybe more and redesign the fire ring area and move a bit closer. Our town still allows campfires in town. The rumor is that it is ok if you use it to cook some food but dont know if that is legit or not.
