Why not FoxSports Ohio which everyone has? I mean how many people in Columbus even have Time Warner? When you shut out local fans they'll be lucky to grow the fan base at all. I wouldn't be surprised if they are moved in the future.
Really? Opening weekend and games are impossible to find -- except for day 3. That's weak. Opening weekend shouldn't be televised on Spanish-only television. That's not so hot of MLS.
Like I mentioned, I don't know what was available for CCSC when the deal was signed. Maybe FoxSports Ohio didn't want it? Maybe they didn't put in a bid? Maybe the bid from TWC was better? I'm not sure, I don't know the answer. But, I imagine there was some consideration on what was the best deal. I'm sure the front office didn't seek to alienate any fanbase.
But, blackouts aren't really that abnormal either. NFL has blackouts in their local markets for televised games. Not saying it's the right thing to do, because I don't like not watching soccer either, but I get it. Blackout the market to push people to attend games. I don't fault that one bit. I want butts in the seats too.
All this said, it appeared the home opener for CCSC happened to be a pretty decent attendance. But, I'm only going off of what I saw from the highlights.
