String ray city was awesome. We booked ours through a cruise line along with swimming with dolphins. The dolphin company took us out to a sandbar in the middle of the water and their was about 200 string rays around us. There was maybe 15-20 people there and we were the only boat anywhere around. The guides actually picked a few of the stingrays up and put them on our backs for pictures and let us feed them.

We we also did atving thru the Mayan ruin in Cozumel. I can't say u really see many ruins but the atving was awesome. We came back to the ship caked in mud and everyone just looked at us and wanted to know what we did. I would recommend both of those. We also had friends who did snorkeling at the beach and had 4 hours of open bar while they did it and they loved it as well.

If you don't know how to snorkel (sp), learn while you are here. Don't waste precious vaca time learning!!! One more thing Fab4, get the best sun-block you can get. Don't waste your vaca time in your cabin, the sun is brutal in that area. Can't remember when you're leaving but post the date. I have family there who may make it a little easier for you guys if they're on the island then.

Something else.... Don't forget to hit the duty-free shops.....Well worth it!

We are leaving Sunday 12/15 and will be back Sunday 12/23.

Picked up some sunblock last night, and I definitely plan to hit up the shops. Really looking forward to the whole trip.

Cruises are fun, been on two. One of them on the same stops you are going.

1. Cozumel-You have to hit the Mayan Indian Ruins...either Tulum or the other one they do from there (can't remember name).
2. Grand Cayman-Definitely do the sting rays, was fun.
3. Jamaica-Not that interesting, Dungs Rivers Falls (sp?) was pretty but other than that it was definitely the worst stop on that cruise.

Haggle with the shops, especially in Cozumel, I got a complete marble chess set they wanted to sell for $100 for $15.

Literally takes 3 minutes to figure out how to stay along the surface.

Its not called "mask and flippers"!!! Snorkeling is breathing while "you do your mask and flippers". 3 minutes to figure out?, maybe in a kiddie pool or your bath tub where you can sit up and not have to tread water. Kinda hard to stand up in the ocean or on coral (which isn't allowed unless you are in danger) when waves are pushing you around.


Takes less than 3 minutes to drown though!!! Just was trying to give her some suggestions and a couple safety tips Laley23.
