That's dumb, we never delayed unless it was supposed to be below zero. Hopefully you do not close, with the expected bad winter we will see there will be plenty of snow daysIronman92;1552253 wrote:My school called 2 hrs ago and announced a 2 Hr delay for tomorrow due to extremely cold temperatures.
Now I can give some reasons to back this decision....BUT
The temperature tomorrow at 6:00-7:00 am when most kids get on the bus is supposed to be 9 degrees.....2 hours later it's supposed to be 7 degrees.

Just multiply the liquid precipitation by the ratio to get your snow forecast. So if you are forecast to get .5" of liquid precip, a 10:1 ratio would give you 5" of snow. 12:1 would be 6". The "average" that is most commonly used is 10:1.said_aouita;1552241 wrote:What does those ratios work out to be as an accumulation?
e/ Weather reports are saying "light snow" and that is a disappointment.

Zero chance of closing. Our district is 43 miles wide with the high school on the far western side. Our first kids get on the bus at 5:56 am....the elementary kids get off the bus at 7:20 and high school at 8:00.Classyposter58;1552322 wrote:That's dumb, we never delayed unless it was supposed to be below zero. I have no clue....but we are 43 miles wide E-W but not wide at all N-S. the kids (about 1/6-1/8 of our district) on the far eastern side are closer to 10 other high schools than the one they attend. Holmes has 2 (West Holmes, Hiland/East Holmes). I think Hocking County is barely clipped by one of the Athens County districts too (N-Y?) giving them 2
I believe Morgan County is a 1 district county.

Can we get back to the winter storm please?
Thanks.

3-6" for northern Ohio. I'll take it this early in the season.dlazz;1552421 wrote:Can we get back to the winter storm please?

Not happy with the timing of this storm. Have one of my best games on my schedule slated for this weekend, and this storm brings the possibility of a cancellation.

As long as my flight to Tampa leaves on time on Saturday...I don't really care what happens.

It probably won't, sorry but too much snow. Overall expect snows of 4-8" with from just north of Columbus to the southern border getting 4" and lower as you go south. Highest amounts possible in NW Ohio, around Findlay and Lima I thinkFab4Runner;1552443 wrote:As long as my flight to Tampa leaves on time on Saturday...I don't really care what happens.
