He had a 64% completion?lhslep134;1658441 wrote:Braxton is a significantly better runner and has more (and very valuable) experience. He's not a better passer and he's not necessarily a better QB. Although I've made it known how much I hate QBs who can't throw accurately (Pryor and Miller among them).

I can count on one hand the number of absolute "must have" 3rd downs Miller ever completed in games that weren't blow outs. When he faced legit competition he was a very average QB. Barrett looks better throwing the ball and will give us better opportunity against tougher opponents.

What was weedens completion % in college? Yeah...Classyposter58;1658471 wrote:He had a 64% completion?
Completion % in college is the most useless stat you can throw out there.

3rd best in the Big Ten East right now I would say.gerb131;1658454 wrote:Maryland ain't bad.
They also have probably the 2nd best offense OSU has seen this year, behind Cincy. The worst offensive performance was 24 points in the rain at USF. Over 34 each other time. And, they hung with WVU the whole game.
So, I expect the pass defense to get gashed some more.

Hell, most fans and alum said before the season they would be happy with 6-6 given the schedule.
On a different note, Edsall said he won't go into the status of C.J. Brown until gameday, so OSU will have to plan for both QB styles.
Smart move.

Ohio State will beat UMD so bad that UMD will consider closing its football program next year forever.

Please. This has come up before and its a joke. I seriously like how JT is playing. Kid is going to be really good. But its like Guiton last year, its against teams who had/have piss poor defenses.ccrunner609;1658388 wrote:they wont because there is gonna a qb controversy. If JT runs the table this year with games like that.....Miller wont see the field next year,
On top of that, Meyer cleared the air on this very subjext just today. Said that "Braxton Miller is our quarterback".
http://ohiostate.247sports.com/Article/Meyer-Braxton-Miller-is-our-quarterback-31590338
People can think what they want. But I have to scratch my head when some think JT will be the QB even if Miller is 100%. Do some of you have any idea how good Miller is, or not? The kid is one of the best player in the country, period. He is/was the difference between this team challenging for a national title, and now not. With what OSU has coming back next year, IF, and yes, a big IF, Miller is healthy...this team is/will be loaded.
Let it rest.

The thing is, everyone around the football program knows Miller's career as a QB is over. So it's easy for Meyer to say that. JT will be the QB next year and Miller will be used in a hybrid role.

They do? And you know this for a fact? lol IT would have been EASY for Meyer to say this..."we are hear to talk about this years team, not next year". In fact, he didn't. That would have been the easy thing, easy way out.HelloAgain;1658713 wrote:The thing is, everyone around the football program knows Miller's career as a QB is over. Meyer isn't going to say anything other than glowing positives about Braxton and his future because, despite his public statements, there is a small chance he enters the draft when the time comes. It all depends where he hears he'll be drafted.
But the team and Braxton know the shoulder is done. He'll be able to throw, and even if it's with near the same force as before, his shoulder won't be able to accommodate the same volume. Basically, he can't be an every down starting QB. What he can be is a hell of a weapon as a hybrid that runs and maybe throws a handful of times each game. That is the current plan going forward barring word a team will take a flyer on him in the first few rounds of the draft.

Think we were on the same page when this first happened that that was a real possibility and may be best for Braxton's NFL chances, and IMO, may just be best for Ohio State next year. They have some playmakers now, but adding a dynamic player like Braxton next year would be unreal. Barrett is still raw but I think with more practice and playing time he's going to be extremely good.HelloAgain;1658713 wrote:The thing is, everyone around the football program knows Miller's career as a QB is over. No NFL with half a brain (so the Clowns & Jets are a possibility...) would even consider wasting a draft pick on Miller even in the late rounds. He will transfer to a running QB offense school for his 5th Year and most likely be re-injured by mid season. It's unfortunate but it's reality.

Can we wait till league play to make our judgement with JT?
Kid hasn't played a Big Ten game yet, and has really never been on the road.
Hell of an assumption you all are making.
JT is great so far, but I need to see more before I can anoint him the 2nd coming.
And, let's really see how they do against Maryland, which will be the 2nd best defense, behind VT, he will have seen this year.
Maryland's Dline straight up shut down Indiana's run game. Coleman was under a 100 yards until the game was in hand.

Can you ever any substance to anything except your childish bullshit? BTW, how did you feel about Craft? Didn't you make some bet/comment if he were to make an NBA team/roster you would disappear or something? I may have to look that up. hahaSportsAndLady;1658754 wrote:You were around long enough to remember cbf and his "ways" weren't you?

BTW, please read. I said "IF" Miller were near 100%. And If that does happen, and as I said, a BIG IF, then Miller will be behind OSU center to start the season.
