The wife got me. She asked for 50 Shades of Grey for Mothers Day on Blue Ray, so I bought it for her. Then I got roped into watching it.
Other than the Cinemax after Midnight on a weekend type sex scenes, the story was actually semi interesting, and the ending makes you actually want to know what happens next. It kind of roped (pun intended) me in, but not to the part I will be throwing elbows to get in to see it on the big screen next year. It left a lot of open questions I wanted answered> (How did Grey get all those burns, is Mrs. Robinson hot, why have I not seen this woman's vagina yet, why the hell wouldn't she at least trim that bush?) So overall I give it a 5/10. IF I'm there, I would watch the next movie, but not watch the 1st movie a second time.

Watched Gone Girl this weekend. Thought it was really good. After a little while of them searching and what not, I kinda figured out that the story. But never thought it would end the way it did.
There was a little flier in the case for the books. Interested to see if they make the other 2 into movies as well.

Dark Places comes out in August. The trailer looks really good. I believe Sharp Objects is going to be a TV series.wildcats20;1730836 wrote:Watched Gone Girl this weekend. Thought it was really good. All of the books are excellent. Gone Girl the book was better than the movie, but not by a whole lot. I really liked both.

At first I would have given Mad Max an 8.5/10, but after reflection it deserves a 9/10. The character storyline is lacking, but that is because I believe they have prequels planned. Easily a top 10 action movie for me, and might be the best action movie I have seen in years. My only gripe with the movie is 1. I wanted to learn more about the characters and 2. it wasn't rated R.

Do ya have to watch or remember much from the previous movies of the series? Been a long, long time since I watched the old one.s

Yeah you do actually. The makers of the new mad max thought it was important to continue on the story from a movie made 36+ yrs ago for continuity/fan criticism. Hollywood loves to make movies in which you have to remember the story from a movie that's almost 40 yrs old to know what's going on. Big $$$ maker for them!thavoice;1731195 wrote:Been hearing from people it is pretty good.

So I'm always excited for a new Terminator installment...but how exactly is Arnold going to age?

To the degree that The Terminator will be the new Jason Voorhees, where he moves slow as hell, but the second the camera goes off him, he magically teleports in front of whoever he's chasing to kill 'em.gut;1731277 wrote:So I'm always excited for a new Terminator installment...but how exactly is Arnold going to age?

Now, now...everyone knows novices wander the woods in circles, so really Jason just needed a basic understanding of geometry.Heretic;1731383 wrote:To the degree that The Terminator will be the new Jason Voorhees, where he moves slow as hell, but the second the camera goes off him, he magically teleports in front of whoever he's chasing to kill 'em.

Never saw original Mad Max...watched Fury Road tonight and loved it. 85% action, loved it. I could be bias, Tom Hardy is one of my favorite actors.

The rant/lecture by the main bad guy though was pretty dead on about the world I believe.

Finally watched Man of Steel the other day. 7/10. I am not big into Superman, which is why I was in no hurry to see it. That said, I enjoyed it. Makes me more excited for Batman v. Superman...even though I still hate Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman. #wah
Also, this has been my favorite gif since the movie came out back in 2013. It was like a waterfall when I finally saw the actual scene.

I hope you are talking about tears, because if not that would be way TMI.Fab4Runner;1732127 wrote:

Avengers: Age of Ultron
The movie itself maybe a 8/10, but the foreshadowing into the next few Marvel/Avenger's movies was REALLY interesting.
San Andreas
Terrible, maybe 2/10 at best. It was "The Day After Tomorrow" (big disaster where father rescues stranded son) but turn the son into a daughter. And it was WAY cheesy with stupid one liners. My 2nd nickname for it was the Murphy's Law movie, whenever something could possibly 'go wrong' for them, it did, it was one uniquely timed disaster after another. It only got a 2 because of the special effects and the fact that it was California getting destroyed.
Furious 7
Storyline 7/10
The "absolutely stupid, no way that can happen" scale 1/10. (SPOILERS from here on out) I mean come on, skydiving cars right onto a road and driving them, cars driving down cliffs, cars jumping from building to building in a skyscraper, etc.
The "feelz good" Paul Walker ending 10/10. Not too many dry eyes in the theatre.

Well, they did actually drop cars out of a plane and land them. Many times if you count rehearsal.

Dropping them out of the sky to get good shots is one thing. Landing them and driving them off was the absurd thing.Laley23;1732179 wrote:Well, they did actually drop cars out of a plane and land them. Many times if you count rehearsal.

The only part that was unrealistic about that was landing on the road with a GPS (which actually is probably doable).jmog;1732214 wrote:Dropping them out of the sky to get good shots is one thing. Landing them and driving them off was the absurd thing.
Watch the behind the scenes footage. The car lands and has no damage. Easily could be driven.

Saw Jurassic World last night. It was as good as a fourth installment about dinosaurs could be. I wish one of the raptors was named Mittens so Chris Pratt could yell "Mittens FREEZE" when the t-rex came out.

Jurassic World was probably the 2nd best of the JP movies behind the original. It definitely pulled on the nostalgia card from the first one as I am sure Terminator Genysis will.
There were definitely more "hokey" Sharknado type scenes in this one vs the original but overall not bad. 6.5/10.
