Didn't love nor hate the Avengers - 6/10.

Liked Avengers, didn't love it. It told a pretty good story, and laid the groundwork for both civil War and the Infinity Wars. The first Avengers and Winter Soldier were both better. 7/10

I didn't hate it - but definitely not as good as the first, i'd probably go 5/10. What was with the Ninja Turtles homage of them going to a house in the country to regroup?GoPens;1726589 wrote:Hated Avengers 2. Will give it a 3/10.

16 Blocks -- Really good for much of it, but went for a more happy, sappy vibe over the final 15-20 minutes or so, which annoyed me a bit. 7/10

Mantooth and I are seeing Ex Machina tomorrow. I'm jazzed, obviously.

Caught Avengers: Age of Ultron finally last night. It was good (8/10), but those who have already said this were right - good, but not as great as the first Avengers.
LOVED the Hulkbuster vs. Hulk scene. Very well done. Don't really like the Hulk-Black Widow love angle; especially when in the first Avengers it kinda came off as Hawkeye and Black Widow kinda having a something-something. Didn't care for the whole 'Hawkeye residence' / safe house thing.
SPOILER ALERT
Was surprised they actually killed off Quicksilver. I'm glad they had the balls to knockoff someone (too many times we see only casualties on the villainous side; not on the superhero side), but I was surprised it was Quicksilver. If they ever knockoff Tony Stark, we riot.

Ex Machina - 7/10. I am not really a sci-fi type of gal, but I enjoyed this movie a lot.

The Theory of Everything
Good, but not nearly as good as the hype / I thought it was going to be. Yes Eddie Redmayne was terrific, I don't know how you award someone 'Best Actor' for that kind of role/performance.

And who saw Mad Max? Mantooth saw it without me because I was at Rock on the Range. He loved it, and I am real jealous. I hope to see it this week sometime.

Saw Mad Max last night. It was incredible. 9/10 for sure.
Saw Pitch Perfect 2 with the wife on Saturday... wasn't bad and had a few good jokes just like the first one. My wife and I both agreed the ending should have been different.

Watched a documentary last night on Netflix. I think it was called 'Bigger. Faster. Stronger.' Or something like that. It was essentially a documentary about steroids - specifically anabolic steroids - and how there really isn't any empirical evidence as to why they should be banned other than a couple zero-fact-based accusations. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would encourage others to watch it as well. Very well written. Very well produced. The guy did a great job of 'chasing the rabbit hole' and investigative research it seemed like. I'm sure there's a whole nother side that probably was missed/left-out, but for the most part it seemed like this guy did a pretty good job of walking a middle line and providing the arguments for both sides.

Mad Max was absolute garbage. It was an "artistically violent" movie, but story, plot, and characters were lacking.

You went into this movie thinking it would have some awesome plot/story/character development?Glory Days;1730037 wrote:Mad Max was absolute garbage. It was an "artistically violent" movie, but story, plot, and characters were lacking.

I mean at least the originals had some sort of purpose. hell, Michael Bay even attempts to have a plot.Rotinaj;1730113 wrote:You went into this movie thinking it would have some awesome plot/story/character development?

Finally watched Interstellar, and I have two thoughts.
1. Pretty good flick. Well thought out, and kept you entertained.
2. Matt Damon's character was a fucking dick!
Overall 8/10
