Can't belibe I haven't seen Boyhood or Birdman yet. Been meaning too for awhile, but got too busy. Gonna try to check them both out soon as the clips at the Oscars have me more intrigued than the trailers.

The Interview 4/10

Dumb as hell overall, but I expected that. Franco did make me chuckle a few times though.

I'll go up to an 9/10. There were times that some of the dialogue did get pretty deep and incomprehensible...but not that often. Great movie, kept me on the edge of my seat.

I used to hate James Franco, but he's growing on me. He was by far the funniest part of that movie. I had some good laughs, so I'd put it at probably a 5/10.

Even though I had seen it before.....Act of Valor was on last night. Probably 7.8 out of 10. Considering most werent actors it really worked. Only step back is that it was necessarily a true story per se. Just different acts that they have been known to do around the world.

I'd probably give it a six. My BFF and I both laughed quite a bit. Obviously it was completely ridiculous and stupid, but I don't mind that in a comedy.

The Drop - 8/10

I went about 80% of the way through this movie thinking it had no point. And then, at the end, it so redeemed itself as to have made the whole thing worthwhile.

I broke down and watched "Birdman" last night.

6/10.

Nowhere near Oscar worthy. It's a crime the way they select these movies. The acting was pretty good, but the movie was slow.

Not as bad as Howard Stern said, but certainly not as good as the critics are making it out to be.

Best picture really should have been American Sniper. But because Clint Eastwood is the furthest thing from a liberal, that movie would never win.

Haven't seen bird man yet, but I thought grand Budapest and whiplash were better than American sniper.

Haven't seen whiplash yet but I really liked grand Budapest and could see that as BP as well. It was a little long for me and it seemed to kind of drag towards the end, which is why I have American sniper above it. But let's face it, as long as Clint Eastwood is making movies, a nomination is about his ceiling, no matter how great a movie it is.

Your last comment right. As far as how it should have won? no idea, did not see the others and have no interest in seeing them. I wont see a movie strictly because it was a nominee or a winner

I have not seen Birdman, but I also wouldn't trust a Stern movie review haha.

If you have no interest in seeing the other nominations, how can you say American sniper should have won?

Maybe he didn't win because people didn't think American Sniper was as good as Birdman?

How many as martin scorsese won? That due to his politics too? Not like Clint routinely makes gems, I mean lets not forget J.Edgar, one of the worst films of the last 5 yrs.

Wtf are you talking about? I say Eastwood isn't an "academy awards guy lately" and you bring up one of his flops from like 5 years ago and another director?

Are you that butthurt about someone talking about libs that you can't just let one thing go? Good lord
