Just saw American sniper. 9/10 for me. Great acting from cooper and the actress who played his wife. Intense plot. Great action flick and really showed the brutalities of PTSD and how serious a problem it is.

The Drop 7/10
Foxcatcher 6/10 (Very good acting, just really slow at points. Not my kind of movie)

Just saw The Score, with Robert De Niro and Edward Norton.

Overall, I'd give it a 7.5/10. However, Norton's performance gets a 9/10. REALLY liked the job he did.

The Way Way Back - 8/10. I really liked it. Liam James is an adorable little dude, and he is a great actor. I really hated Steve Carrell's character, though.

I saw American Sniper last night. I would give it an 8/10. I thought it was very well done - Clint Eastwood films generally are. Bradley Cooper is excellent playing Chris Kyle. I liked the film because it showed how complicated the war in Iraq was. I am conflicted about Chris Kyle.

American Sniper 9/10. I thought it was great and would have gave it the full 10 if Bradley Cooper wasn't hokding a doll instead of a real baby. I know Eastqood likes to do everything in one take but it was bad and I almost laughed when Cooper was moving the hand with his thumb.

As champps said, Clint likes to film his movies in 1 take so that he can get a more real feel and emotion etc out of his actors. It is a great way, and is much better than mashing up multiple takes like most shows/movies do...but, a screaming baby wouldve ruined that.

For that scene though, I wouldve made an exception lol.

Yeah I'm sure he didn't want to risk a baby ruining the take but the doll was really bad otherwise it was damn near perfect.

Watched boyhood last night. Was really long. I really liked the concept but overall it just wasn't a great story. I'd give it a 6/10

I'm planning on going to American Sniper … looking forward to seeing this film of an American heroes
In my Squad my good friend was a Sniper. Bill used a M14 w/ Starlight Scope and Silencer, we had some great times in Nam. The stories, rules we broke and the shit we pulled was some good times... He was however all business when the cover of night closed in.
I lost track of Bill, 10 years ago I was able to connect with me via computer search and others who I found . Strange thing is he lived in the same town in which my daughter when to college. We never meet each other in those 4 years, he was not ready to go back to those days and renew old friends. I stepped back in hope someday Bill will what to reach out on his own.

I know this for a fact an M14 silencer and the impact of that round at 300 yard filled the night air with an unforgettable sound.

Saw two movies over the weekend.

American Sniper. 9.5/10. Fantastic movie and Cooper does an amazing job. Tells a great story of not just what goes on 'over there' but also effects the families and soldiers when they come home.
A special spot in my heart as when that Marc Lee died in the movie....had met him before and was a buddy of my brother who was also helping on that same mission.
A little bit of "fabric".....In Lone Survivor they briefly showed a patch of Marc Lee (first SEAL killed in Iraq). Luttrell added that in even though he died after the whole Operation Red Wing. I knew it was wrong when I saw it and read afterwards he added it in to honor him even though he still was alive at the time of Lone Survivor.

Unbroken. 7.5/10. I saw this 18 hours after Sniper so that may have me putting it a little lower than expected. Such a tremendous amazing story of what he went through.

Will see SNiper again in a better theatre when it comes local.
