Sons of Anarchy.

As expected, I really liked the movie. 8.5/10. Great performances by the entire cast...even Tyler Perry. It was a little bit long, but they actually left out a couple things that were in the book, so I don't think the length could be helped. Overall I thought it was excellent.

9/10 for me. Loved it. Awesome twists, and Pike was just a fucking creepy as all get out. Great performances.

I won't say I loved the ending, but I did not have a single issue with it. I guess I see where people would, but to me, it wasn't open ended at all...just wasn't a happy, put a bow on it rosey ending most prefer/expect.

Well that's good to hear. I don't mind an unsettling ending or one that leaves loose ends. If that's all it is, I may watch it after all.

Same.

I think sometimes people confuse "satisfying" with "good" when looking at movie endings.

I just didn't care for the ending. I didn't leave the theater and start a riot, I just expected a different ending. (Dissatisfied)

Saw it on Friday. It was terrible, but my kids laughed. At least I got to see Jennifer Garner and thought about fucking her all movie.

I saw Gone Girl and The Judge last night. Don't get me wrong... 'Gone Girl' was pretty good, buuut I was slightly disappointed. For me, it didn't live up to the hype of the reviews & high ratings. I knew going into it there was supposed to be a 'big twist', so I guess I kept trying to 'decipher' what the twist was going to be during the entire film... and IMO, the 'twist' was no-big-deal. I agree with those that said the movie had a weak ending (it kinda just abruptly ended). I would give it about a 7, maybe 7.5 out of 10; but the reviews & ratings going into the film led me to believe it was going to be at least an 8, perhaps even a 9 or so.

The Judge was alright. Probably a 6.5-7 out of 10. Robert Downey Jr was amazing as always (man that guy can act). It's gotten to the point now where anything with him and I'm in.

I don't mind a not-so-happy ending (see above about Noah). The way people make it sound reminds me of the Grapes of Wrath book. Steinbeck ended the damn thing in the middle of a somewhat climactic (if you can call it that) event. It felt like he wrote 90% of a book and then gave up.

An ambivalent-turned-benevolent character amid the protagonists and antagonists. I appreciated more than just two sides entering into the mix. They looked weird, but hell, there are plenty of movies with weird-looking characters.

As I said, I thought it was way too long, but otherwise, what was so bad about it?
My only problem with Noah (I knew going in that it was going to be a ROUGH interpretation) was the fact that he basically went full psychopath. It probably just rubbed me a little wrong with the mantra that many atheists trumpet that "you have to be crazy to believe in a god".

Other than that I thought it was a good, but not great, movie.

I chalked that up to the cataclysmic events surrounding him. I might go a little grape nuts under the circumstances, too.
